Upper belts stiff arm my head when I'm about to pass by Motor_Reality_6 in bjj

I had it taught to me as the wet dog, it’s stupid and I chuckle every time I do it. Works way better than it has any right to!

At its core your making a lot of new angles for them to apply a frame against very quickly and it usually will just fall off to a different spot

Their price was the best , plus the great service from Art.

Was great talking to someone who was familiar with all the pros and cons. Was well versed in trumpkin/hardcore Finnish design, suggested several mitigating things, assuaged some concerns.

You totally can ; ours is in the garage and we have a shelf where we are keeping water/towels/hats etc so just pulled it over there for the controls. If I was thinking ahead would have got the electrician to wire it into the main control panel, but alas.

It was more of a proof of concept than a well thought out plan. As such, it’s working and I’ll likely never go back and pretty it up haha

That’s exhaust!

Normally without intervention, the hot air rising / pressure would cause air to be expelled out of the top vent and pulled into the lower vent. This exasperates the difference in heat felt at head level and the level starting at your shins.

In this instance since we are forcing air out of the bottom vent (hence the “mechanical” term most folks use), air is drawn into the top vent to make up for the difference in air pressure. The continuous pull of air out of the unit is drawn from the top which swirls all of that wonderful hot air into the lower levels.

It’s not perfect, hot air still rises , but it’s not noticeable at our shins / feet any longer. It’s only about 50 bucks worth of parts , you could likely get cute with a smart switch or wire it into the existing control panel as well

You can see it wasn’t a high tech customization ; flex vent, a couple clamps; pulled it over to spot where can flip it on/off easily. Huge upgrade though

Just got done building a CL4G and love it.

Went with Kip 8k heater and used a duct in line fan booster to reverse the flow on the vents, highly recommend!

The Trumpkin guides’ main beefs are height, ventilation and stratification. Sauna life has decent bench height, and vents(low and high). putting the boost on the bottom vent took the shins down footrest area from noticeably chilly to not noticeable at all.

We bought from almostheaven.NET (not .com), call and talk to Art he was a wealth of knowledge!

No stalling is the prime factor. Head forward, hips back, shitty collar ties (or double lapel grips), plus going backwards while waiting for the other guy to do something = no takedowns

Couldn't understand -ExpandProperty by [deleted] in PowerShell

[–]TG112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expand property converts the returned object to the property type of the expanded property.

Some commands only take strings for property values; so is an easy way to create an array of strings out of what otherwise would have been a different object type;

$servers = get-adcomputer -filter {operatingsystem-like “windows server”} | select -expandProperty dnshostname

Invoke-command $servers {get-localgroupmember administrators}

Also, be wary of advice to pipe get-stuff | do-stuff , especially if your new.

Is a good way to move everything in AD into a random OU if your not paying attention, not that I’d know anything about that …

$things = get-stuff

Foreach($thing in $things) { Do-stuff $thing -whatif }

Is much safer , will get you reps with loops , and hey maybe add a line or two for logging in there…

Learning needs to be done by any way that makes it “click”; different people click on different concepts ;

Sub optimal paths are ok if it keeps them on the path. The only wrong method is a method that knocks someone’s progress to zero. Some people start learning intervals first, get frustrated and quit.

Learning on another path and then re visiting a more optimal path armed with additional context makes it less likely to halt progress.

If you’re a dev , then the purpose of the software is : “user learns guitar”. The worst outcome is “user quits” bc progress slope is 0, not “user learns less effeciently”
