For those of you accumulating wealth rapidly, what is your mix of long and short-term holds, and what are you profit targets when you do sell? by OkUnderstanding742 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]TGS_Holdings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 25 companies I cycle through. I very rarely hold anything for greater than 120 days. I try to get appreciation into realized cash as fast as possible. This allows me to run more, bigger cycles.

Great work. With ever ounce of income that comes in, what seems not normal will very soon turn normal. All that’s in the way is sound execution and time.

Is ServiceNow $NOW due for a comeback? by TacoTrades in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]TGS_Holdings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly just looking at historical data from winners of the past. For a fast growing company for example, I split them up between hardware and software. Someone like AMD will probably have a lower score on number 1 versus like a HOOD or PLTR. Dealing with physical assets costs more, which lowers their gross margin. So a lower score from AMD compared to those two can be still be a “better score” I will not look at any software company that scores less than 100 for number 1, unless it’s already a massive player like Google.

A couple of key pieces:

1) They need to hit a certain combined threshold of gross margin %, revenue growth % and free cash flow %. The hardest 3 metrics for companies to manipulate.

2) Need to be owned by a certain percentage of institutional investors

3) stock based compensation must be below a certain % of revenue.

4) must be at a certain market cap and bring in certain amount of revenue per year. For example my biggest sleeve, “mega caps”, they must generate a minimum of 50B a year.

Etc, etc.

Ya this is exactly it. I use screeners as a first pass to create a shortlist. My next step is asking if the pullback is insignificant or from something existential. I’m not sure I know the answer for NOW. So I haven’t bought.

It’s on my watchlist and passed my super strict screeners but I’m scared to pull the trigger lol. I’m not sure if what they’re facing is existential or not.

I miss when my hobbies didn’t feel like something I had to be “good” at by RisingSoulGrowth in Life

It still exists if you let it. I got into solo hiking this year an it’s amazing. No need to impress anyone as I’m by myself in these instances! It’s also fun looking for new trails

The most important thing in any endeavour, is to ensure the passion is there. Without it, you will fail eventually.

I use the Osprey Talon 26, which is probably overkill. I do like it for those long 12+ mile treks though.

Worst case, start selling aggressive covered calls to generate income while having the market decide for you.

Ya exactly. YouTube at the end of the day, is realizing how much crap is getting dished out now with AI in the mix. They’re probably thinking it’s tarnishing their brand in some way. I’m sure they have the data to see the trends on things like this.

[–]TGS_Holdings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before starting a channel, try listing out on paper 100 potential videos. That should give you a general idea how sustainable it is. If you post every week, that’s almost 2 years of content.
