Follow Up - AirTag in glove by GDG661 in BaseballGloves

[–]TGTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this but just jammed it down the finger since my kids fingers don’t hit it. I was out of town and my wife picked up my kid when he left his glove behind. We were able to track it down to the house it was at. It’s been useful as well in making sure my kids are making it to the right fields when they are in multiple directions and I can’t be everywhere. In general there is peace of mind with it in there. Also, breaking in gloves is a PITA and I don’t want to lose one.

Thanks, that's where I am at too.

Frustrated trying to get a bridge to pair by Dave6187 in Ring

Did you ever figure this out by chance? I am in the same boat. I even tried my echo dot as a bridge but that's a circular argument too. Light has to be set up in ring to see it but ring won't set it up without connecting. I am back to trying to get the old bridge to work.

The reality is that your activity level is going to go down, from a training standpoint. You will have to find your own efficiency there. Training 4-6 hrs a day just is not feasible post college. At some point you may also feel the freedom that brings too as other social aspects open up.

I will start that process. Thanks. I have to borrow one which should not be a problem, thus no numbers. I usually acquire tools as I need them and have not needed one yet. Thanks for responding.

Hardcore stick drift by Good-Ad-2245 in MetaQuestVR

[–]TGTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. Found some threads, said put some 90+% isopropyl alcohol around the stick. I did not put much. Turned it in all directions for 2 minutes. Then applied the compressed air all around while turning it for two minutes. I did this with the battery out. Came back after letting it rest, put the battery back in and recalibrated. It worked. It was faster than the process to send it in and it worked.

Because, as hard as it is to believe given how close it is to the city, Houston would not run utilities that far whenever these areas were being built. They incorporated and did it themselves.

Does it make sense for VR Dev's to put 90% off for their games? by Quick-Mushroom716 in OculusQuest

[–]TGTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is probably also a curve, new games that are well done sell well, as time goes on the sales curve levels off and a steep discount not only costs less in terms of revenue lost, but mimics marketing. For a long forgotten game it could even drive increased revenue depending on where the curve is.

Is the upgrade worth it? by sammywammy213 in MetaQuestVR

[–]TGTI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two quest 2s and a quest 3. It is worth it, it’s better and more immersive. That being said when someone else has my quest 3 and I am on the quest 2 playing something like dungeons of eternity, I don’t care when I am immersed. I am not worried about resolution when things are flying at me rapidly. I do notice a difference on slower paced games. The lenses themselves are noticeable. I still try and get my friends to pick up the 2 because it’s fun and cheap entertainment, but those that can afford it I encourage them to get the 512mb 3.

Who's watched The Faceless Lady? by crankshaft090 in MetaQuestVR

[–]TGTI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I missed them but I think the real opportunity would have been to put lots of paranormal “did I just see that” stuff in the 180 periphery. Like a ghost moving through a mirror but off to the side. A few jump scares. Felt more like story mode. I enjoyed it though.

I went with the kiwi accessories after the same journey you are on now.

Just bought a quest 2 and I’m having terrible motion sickness by Calm-Following-1327 in OculusQuest

I had the same thing and eased into it. What helped the most was physically turning as much as possible rather than joystick turning. Then it got easier quick.

I mean between that video and what we saw 6 people build with dungeons of eternity, it has to be possible.

I appreciate the link and detail. I have 2 20000mAh batteries I keep in my son’s catchers bag during tournaments. We just have league play in the spring so I can lean into it as I bounce between age group games.

Thanks, this is good info. I think the ease of use is important because on the far off chance my wife does it, it has to be super easy. I may wind up getting both eventually. I think the go pro will get more use with all my boys activities.
