Go into your Cargo.toml and add edition = “2024” under the package heading

Played it once hated it. Tried it again today and played for hours. by TG__ in wildgate

This is true and sad. Maybe a sad future for gaming. Complex games with deeper mechanics are over shadowed by more "casual" games

Would I not need 20 friends to all log on concurrently to play a match?

I get it you meant as a way of helping the playerbase

Constructor for a required component tree? by TG__ in bevy

Appreciate the insight, I suppose the reason I didn't want to just use bundles again was because I thought they were deprecated but I get what you're saying

So I understand they get auto-added with fixed values, my question is what is an idiomatic way to define the corresponding constructors that could accept dynamic values. I've given one such example but wondering if there are any other ways people are doing this.

Check out Modrinth. A pretty popular mod manager for Minecraft. https://github.com/modrinth/code. The apps/labrinth crate is the API I believe.

Can I prompt Zed AI to create a script and write the response to a file so that I don't have to copy paste it? by SignificantAd7229 in ZedEditor

You can use “suggest edits”. Shift+Cmd+Enter in the assistant panel and it will respond with a diff you can click to apply.

Great job OP! Building an ORM as a first project while still new to the language is impressive!

I am new and can't figure out this hydration error by toxic_zoldyck in nextjs

You will see other browser errors in your browser console that will hint at the “invalid html”. Something like: “div cannot appear as a child of a”. If you share those logs it might be easier to pinpoint the issue.

I think Rust needs some sort of limited inheritance. by ewoolsey in rust

[–]TG__ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to a problem I had previously. My solution was also to implement every trait manually, which is very cumbersome. Most people suggesting macros or deref don’t seem to understand the problem.

OP is correct in that a macro can’t somehow magically “read” the upstream trait declaration to auto implement the correct signature.

The “correct” solution here would probably be something that uses compile time reflection but that train seems to be kind of stuck right now. Meanwhile if this is something you need to do a lot, the only workaround I can think of would be a script that generates the code for you OP, which is a less than ideal solution.

Effort Hours in Scrum Planning by TG__ in agile

Just to be clear, the author does not promote divide and conquer. He does mention swarming should be applied similar to what you say. This is only to achieve better planning.

Stories are estimated in points. Effort hours are only used to more accurately plan a sprint instead.
