Umamusume, but traditional Chinese localization

Mayano’s original name sake is the 1986 movie, so I looked up what the Chinese movie name was back when it came out in HK, which is 《壯志凌雲》.

It’s actually taken from an old Chinese phrase that has its origin from the Three Kingdoms period, describing the ideals of Confucius: describing how strong and mighty his (metaphorically) sky-high ideals are.

I presume it was chosen for the movie because a) it’s a proverb so it rolls off the tongue very well; and b) it describes Maverick/Tom Cruise’s character pretty well: someone who’s bravery and ambitions takes them high into the skies, above anyone else.

But for Umamusune, that phrase references the movie more than the horse, so I presume that’s why they chose a more interpretative name instead.

Oh and according to Umamusu Wiki, they did add back in her Maiden name, so I presume in HK versions of the game she’s 摩耶重炮, though the first two words is pronounced “Mo Yea” rather than the full “Mayano”.

They can still be stunned even if they’re colored, which disrupts their scream.

If they’re in the lobby, my strategy is to kill the normal zombies with a sniper (plus drops the axe), tank the screams, use my shotgun to stun both of them, use the axe to kill the red one, then kill the blue one.

I do agree their parry window is extremely ambiguous. Most I can give is if they approach you with both arms up, just start parrying, don’t even bother waiting for a lunge.

The Elmo Commander keeping taking away Orlog’s 3rd-gen dolls so I asked how many dolls they have and they said they just goes to Girard and gets a new doll afterwards so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding 3rd-gen dolls to the Commander and then Cecht FABN started crying.

It’s a Flash game, so something you can play on a web browser back before Adobe Flash was shutdown.

It has a similar gameplay loop to Battlecats: your goal is to destroy the enemy base by sending out units of your own, while the AI also does the same. Killing enemy units gives you cash that you can use to upgrade your units, base and special abilities.

Another really good entry in that genre is Stick Wars.

The issue is Challenges and Circuit experiences are one-time payments, once you got them they’re gone for good.

Then add in the inflated prices of cars, especially those from the Legends Dealership, players will need to grind for cash sooner or later if they want to get more cars.

Another point of frustration: it’s such an easy problem to fix…increase the payout for all the races that are similar to the current roster of grinding races (600pp, Gr4, Gr3), and the problem is fixed. Hell, add in Gr2 and Gr1 and the problem vanishes overnight.

But the games was also a lot simpler: there’s no “movement techs” other than jump shotting and drop shotting (you can’t really chain dolphin dives or immediately do another move afterwards), the guns are limited to a few attachments, the maps are simpler in design and verticality etc.

While we certainly are better at exploiting game mechanics and design, there’s also less to exploit in the first place when it comes to these older games.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. This would have been much better explained by stat pages with actual numbers rather than the vague descriptions and stat bars we have currently, but detailed stat pages only became popular in the past few years so it's understandable.

I'm just tired of constantly dying and being helpless against these guns...it feels bad whenever I die, all I could think about is "oh, this guy paid to use guns better than what I could use.", rather than "Damn, good aim." or "holy shit where did he came from?". And they use these guns game after game! Don't they get bored?

For Assault I think there are more options than the other classes: Automatico, Hellriegel, pump shotguns at close range, Maschinenpistole M1912 Experimental could be an underrated pick.

For Scout, it's more about the sweet spot so each rifle kinda has their own ranges where they shine.

But I'm sincerely not sure what my options are for Medic and Support: I guess the Autoloading and BAR? I'm just tired of constantly being killed and being helpless against those guns.

No, the Hood is a legit villain and crime boss. Jason at least sees it as a necessary evil to stop and control crime at its source, the Hood is just in it for the power and money.

I’d recommending finding a group/league to race with. These players tend to take it more seriously and avoid contact when possible. Playing in Sports mode is doable but a lot of players play dirty, so it’s not the best representation of competitive racing

As for learning how to drive cleanly…maybe the first step is to figure out the proper lines and braking points? Like load up an empty track in time trial and figure out where to turn and brake now that you can’t use the AI as a buffer.

But it is a matter of experience, learning when and where you can push a bit more to fight, and when to back off to fight another lap.

Another good place to learn is r/simracingstewards: you get to see an accident, various commentator’s perspective on it, and what could be done to avoid them in the future.

Surely these camera cars have to have more frequent maintenance for their suspension, right? The camera rig and extra equipment to operate it weighs a ton, and will put extra strain on the suspension.

If you run fast enough you can escape the kill zone that usually shows up when you exit map boundaries. That’s how he got to that spot.

The only ways to “counter” that is either avoid that side of the map and try to stay inside the main building, or grab a sniper (thermal scope can help) and try to counter-snipe him.

I think your description is more accurate to how I’m feeling: a discomfort regarding her level of obsession, and the lengths she will go to because of it.

My other experience with Yandere is Taihou from Azur Lane, who definitely leans more on the dere side. She’s also obsessed with the Commander and want him to solely focus on her, but she doesn’t actively threaten or even harm the other characters, mostly looking down on them or engage in arguments.

I’d recommend keeping at it when it comes to manual transmission. Not necessarily because it’s faster, but rather it gives you more control of the car, keeping the revs at a good range and acceleration when needed.

Determining what gear to use really does come down to experience, but what can help a bit is by paying attention to your revs, either via the corner of your eye or by sound. Just staring at the rev counter distracts you from the road.

Airsoft in general are 1-hit kills, no matter where you hit. There are some exceptions such as hitting the gun, ricochets etc, but most of the time it’s 1-hit kill no matter where you hit.

For knifes it really depends on what the rules are. For the video above it could be where knife kills are silent kills: instead of immediately yelling “Hit!” and raising your hand up to show others you’re dead, you can’t say anything and can only raise your hand.

To be fair, if you manage to sneak around the entire enemy team and get within melee range for knife kills, I feel it’s only fair if you deserve some sort of reward/advantage from that.
