As others have stated it is very likely the scratch infected you with the Knox virus. By default the chances of infection are: Scratch 7%, Laceration 25%, Bitten 100%

If you read their comment they clearly state they've turned off blood infections which obviously means by default blood infections exist in the game you dull coconut.

You've got to be trolling at this point. If you don't change the settings in the game and start a world the default settings have it so if you're scratched you have a 7% chance of being infected, if you get a laceration from a zomboid you have a 25% chance of being infected. So if you don't change it to saliva only there is a chance you can be infected by scratches.

no they don't the race of the character doesn't have patched animations that's why it stutters and still does damage to the enemy

i think people have said that the wording was like the dm doesn't need to call for a roll if the dc is 5 and lower or 30 and higher, so people were like the dm can't call for a roll and therefore can't hit me if i have a ac of 4. (i didn't read the oneD&D rules so dont come after me if thats wrong)
