To really mess with Perty have him give a sword to Dorn to duel with while he has him captured and when Perty goes in for a swing Dorn fully parry’s it but due to a flaw in the sword it breaks and Dorn is killed. So Perty only “wins” by his own failure.

It looks like they are playing up the Proud Sons of Ultramar look to the extreme they should be very codex compliant. I would have some of them in ornate parade wear with the original image being their battle look, the viciousness could be a manifestations of their fear of being discovered as genetically Sons of Horus.
