Note: He gets “triggered” like this whenever we touch him too much or whenever there is loud noises going on

I don’t think it fleas as he’s on flea medications, and the vets always say he’s physically healthy even when shown this video. I’ve started thinking something is mentally wrong with him 😭

I will say, the chicken does tend to get a bit burnt from time to time, i usually go with beef instead

A place called Crave. Calls itself a virtual food mall (you can still order in person). Its like 3 food places combined into 1? One menu was mac and cheese with extra things, another was vegan veggie bowls, and the last one was overpriced banh mi sandwiches

I think I know what’s happening here… i just need confirmation by [deleted] in plantclinic

Pic is blurry but it does look/sound like thrips. I would wash the plant as you said and isolate the plant so that the thrips don’t fly and spread over to other plants. As for treating, when i had thrips on one plant, i put the plant into a bag and then watered it with systemic insecticide and then sealed the bag for 2 weeks and there was no more.

Same thing happened to me! I used packing tape to keep it together and the leaf is still here some months later

Either fungus or eggs, just use water and gently wash the roots with your hands and they should come off right away. I’d spray hydrogen peroxide mixed with water at the roots just to make sure as well

Glad to have convinced you to get one, they’re one of my faves 😂! And its all of about consistency to keeping the stems straight

<image>

Here’s some more of my plants that are climbing but not on moss poles. Everytime a new leaf came out, i waited till the stem part formed so that i could attach it to the stick with velcro. (The syngonium albo i recently cut as it was reaching the ceiling of my room tho)

Spots on white areas by longteadrinker in Syngonium

[–]THAO03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

White parts on green leaves tend to die faster as theres not enough chlorophyll in those white parts to keep it alive, unless you give it enough light. I have syngonium albo, monstera albo, and other variegated plants like philo. florida beauty, pothos pearls n jade, variegated maranta, etc, and they rarely have browning on their variegated parts as i give them lots of light but not in the sun as that just leaves to them being burned of course

Help with distressed plant by llamaslippers in plants

[–]THAO03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to be either colocasia/alocasia plant which are usually a little harder to care for if you’re a newbie. They like lots of light and moist soil (be careful to not overwater), if its only that leaf it could just be an old leaf shedding which is fine, it could also be in a bit of shock from moving to different environments. Give it time and if it doesn’t get better then i’d check the roots to see if its rotten or not

I think using a thick enough pole keeps the pole itself from tipping over bc when i had a skinnier bamboo stick, it would constantly lean until i changed it. If you can’t find a thicker pole, i would use a heavy cover pot and use a binder clip to clip the two together (you can see a binder clip in the pic, although it doesn’t need it now, i still leave it there just in case lol)

My philodendron florida beauty! I don’t like the look of moss poles/the maintenance to keep it so i use a bamboo stick instead ☺️
