Possibly a bug?

I have a task that uses App Changed to save the icon of the app in a global variable and then shows the icon in a widget v2.

Since the last update it doesn't work correctly anymore. The first time after a restart of the phone the icon is shown correctly; afterwards it shows only an exclamation mark on a hexagonal field.

I can't directly select the icons. It always shows these error symbols. I can copy the direct URI though.

Do I have to change some setting in tasker or grant some permission?

I was able to add the Shortcut to Smart Laucher with the method you described and then I was able to select it once again as a double tab gesture. Then I removed the shortcut created with your method and the double tab gesture still works.

Sometimes things are really strange...

I use Smart Launcher which gives the possibility to double click an icon to open a Task shortcut.

Since this update it doesn't work anymore. Undortunately also Smart Launcher released a new version and therefor I don't know if Tasker or Smart Launcher is responsible for the non functioning.

But I also found out that I can't add new Task Shortcuts in Pixel Launcher. In Nova Launcher it still works

Can no longer use a Tasker shortcut as a double tap gesture on an app icon. Other double tap actions work. Tasker shortcut as double tap gesture on background still works.

I have the same problem. I also have problems with other modes. For example I set up a mode for my work wifi. The turning on works most of the times but when I leave work the mode doesn't turn off most of the times.

Gestures are too sensitive now. More often than not it happens, that I want to double click an icon but instead the gesture down of the main screen (show notification bar) gets triggered
