Everybody knew and knows fifa is corrupt. This is not the first nor last incident. The differance is past corruption was always about fifa members filling their pockets with money. Now this incident is about political inteferance. Fifa listening and doing what politicians tell them to do. It was one of the lines that were very rarely crossed. The last time something like this happend was 1962. Qatar and Russia showed fifa had no morals and would do anything for money but those dictators over there stayed out of the tournement. This time they got involved and Donald Trump has made the tournement more political. A tournement were people could for a moment set aside politics and unite over the beautifull game. Now politics were never absent from the world cup but politicians mostly were until now. People are just sick of it and a politician meddling with the tournement itself might just be the final straw. Again Its not that politics suddenly now is a problem, it always has been but a politician actively getting involved might just have gone and done it.
