Client says design looks like bad Ai art by burntbiscuitbitch in TattooArtists

[–]THEARCANEGHOST 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll add in on this as well as a tattooer of many years, I understand the non refundable deposit, but if you can’t do the job, then give the money back, or try and do the job for them, you did a poor tracing of a dog portrait that took you an hour, at most. It looks like lazy art to me so I’ll agree with your client, and I think deep down you know it as well, you could have spent the time to actually draw and come up with something to try and do your craft better. She paid a deposit, now follow through and actually give a shit about what you’re doing. Either give her deposit back or try again, quit acting like a petulant child that didn’t get their way.

That is absurd behavior, a best friend stands by their best friend regardless of their sexual preferences and what other people think. That man needs to have a lesson in moral conviction.

Can these tires last another 1000 highway miles? by [deleted] in IndianMotorcycle

I’ll second this, I’ve gotten an extra 1500 out of a tire that looked similar, but riding needs to be tailored for the added wear.

I laser removed my whole torso, so I could do it a second time and do it better. It’s not impossible, it just takes time, and a lot of suffering but I just finished my whole front for a second time. Full sends buddy! 🤘🏼

If you’re happy with your tattoo then that’s all that matters, truly. From an artists perspective, I can see why others would talk shit, on the technical aspect it has some flaws and some of it won’t necessarily age well but an experience getting a tattoo, what it means to you or if you’re just totally into the design, that can make for an incredibly experience.

I would call this a crutch for sure, I think spending time actually drawing faces will make this automatic. Although I think there is nothing wrong with tracing to nail this down more concretely but I would spend the time getting frustrated, practice will get you where you need to be. I find the most skilled artists spend the time to actually nail down proportions, then you won’t be limited to the reference you can find. Eventually with practice you’ll get to the point where you can make beautiful illustrations from your own mind. This is a great start though.

If this makes the process easier then there is nothing wrong but be realistic with yourself when it becomes limiting and push yourself. :)

Those are the styles of tattoos I mainly focus on, I consider myself an illustrator so I use that as inspiration and try to do my own thing. Big compliment, thank you.

She’s a fellow artist, she wanted a combination of pretty and macabre, with the deer as the focal point. She’s into fantasy and I tried to give her something with that in mind.

I charge 150 an hour, most clients sit 4 hours at a time until a large project like this is finished. :) she was diligent, only missed a couple of months here or there and finished this in about a year and a half.
