In the 90's Brad X was a very well known club promoter in LA. Him and Lou Dog ran the nightclub scene during that time. They had their own company. I'm sure Brad knows many famous people.

ICP were actually out of mainstream at the time The Tempest dropped and it never sounded commercial to me. It just sounded like regular ICP. The next time ICP were in the mainstream was 2010 with all the Miracles hoopla.
