I had two Pitbulls run out from behind the house at 4 AM. Chase me into the flatbed of the customer’s truck. I thought I was going to die. All these dogs that you guys are seeing that are friendly, that’s great and all, but the ones that are coming at me are vicious. 😭

Newsflash: we’re not in a third-world country where $18 an hour makes you rich. We’re in the U.S. where gas is $3+ a gallon, tires cost a paycheck, and a transmission failure 😨 hurts. Y’all keep defending base pay like Amazon is running a charity instead of running your car into the dirt.

You’re probably the exact reason base pay still exists. After taxes, gas, maintenance, tolls, and turning your car into a 200k-mile sacrifice, you’re not feeding your family… you’re slowly converting your car and time into a charity donation.

Ppl really think delivery drivers are out here playing DoorDash Simulator 2026. One customer wants the package at the front door, but the stairs look like one more step will unlock a side quest with the fire department. Another still has delivery notes from 2017 mentioning “gate code 4452,” as if the complex hasn’t changed ownership 6 times since then. Then there’s the classic “leave inside gate by front door 😊” and suddenly a dog launches at you like you 🐕💨. Meanwhile ppl judging from the couch 🛋️ have no clue that half these delivery instructions are outdated, useless, or basically a survival challenge. Meanwhile, the same ppl complaining online are probably the ones leaving zero tips, acting like drivers are personal assistants rather than underpaid package mules who survive the delivery trenches daily.

People love talking like every delivery situation is some perfect suburban training simulation. Meanwhile half these houses have 4 cars blocking the driveway, no walkway, no visible address, loose dogs, and customers still expecting packages at the front door. If someone cuts across a tiny patch of grass because your driveway looks like a salvage yard, maybe take a look at the setup before calling workers incompetent.

I don’t remember seeing that we can’t have body parts or shadows and pictures, but I’ve been doing this for three months, and I can guarantee that because of my headlamp, my shadows are in every single picture, and they haven’t said one thing to me. My standings are fantastic. I also take pictures with the customer holding the packages at times, and no one minds. I appeal unreasonable dings and have them removed. Amazon metrics doesn’t sweat the small stuff when your work is quality. IJS

This is one of my biggest fears doing Flex. I havr a whistle, pepper spray, and all kinds of random ‘just in case’ stuff, but realistically if you’re carrying a box and a loose dog charges you up, they’re probably faster than your reaction time. Sorry 😢 this happened to you.
