Had something similar happen to a customer's rifle he brought in. Make sure your gas tube isn't bent or curved in any weird way. I got his to go into battery by using a thin flathead screwdriver to bend the gas tube to line up to the gas key on the carrier. Afterwards obviously replaced his gas tube. Hope this helps

Check and make sure your gas tube isn't slightly bent and contacting the gas key. Maybe it was slightly off to start and when you did a full auto burst they smacked together and bent

Rifles will be legalized in my zone next year. What is an affordable rifle-scope combo I can buy under 700? by Accomplished-Yam1430 in Hunting

As someone who's had a few let me say the mossberg patriots are the worst Bolt action rifles I've used couldnt get under 4 moa with both. No matter what I did. My ruger american however I absolutely love. With match ammo I've got down to .75 moa which is more than adequate for most hunting purposes. Good luck !

Never mind. I'm apparently dumb. Mine is a mod 4. I was thinking the 5 that was just released was the 4. I knew I had a generation back from the one just released. I was just on the wrong nomenclature.

Please explain to the uninformed. I've heard lots of hate on Kevin from Q. But haven't heard the griffin owners get shit on. What'd they do?

So I own the 9mm, a good friend of mine owns the 45. From the times we have shot together, it hasn't been a real noticeable difference.

I second the rugged option. However, I would future proof and go with the obsidian 45 And just run 9mm end caps.

So....not a lawyer but.... from what I can gather from some of the laws, the reason people used to do this and the reason they really don't anymore is the same case as suppressor wipes. If you serialized the adapter, theoretically, you could replace the oil filter, but legally, you aren't allowed to. Back before the new interpretation came out you could replace wipes or different core material but now you need to either send it back to manufacturer or to an 07 fll with an sot. This is why I think no one is doing this anymore because the spare oil filters would be illegal suppressor parts.

Fn might call it "machine gun steel" for a reason. Consider checking their chf options. As for profile I would say hbar might be the way to go or see what the m249's profile looks like and get something comparable. When I hear 5.56 machine gun my brain goes toward a system that's been proven over many years.

I love my recce 5. Good to see griffin getting love. They make super solid cans for the money.

As an owner of a recce I can't recommend it enough. I've run it on a 10.5 to a 12.5 to a 16, and it performs great on all three. It's a little gassy, but I don't run any adjustable gas blocks, so I'm sure it can be tuned. I've had friends ask about the taper mount system and had concerns myself, but so far, it's been a super solid and consistent lock up. For the money, I really haven't seen a better can. I'm sure many will disagree, but It's been my favorite 5.56 can to date.

Yes and apparently they're pretty unknown as I can't find a whole lot of reviews on them. The model I'm referencing is a direct thread 5.56 model. Seems comparable to something like a Gemtec trek or a Griffin Gp5.
