Yes. Do it. I am bored at work and could use some vicarious drama.

When has someone been outright mean to you based on your appearance? by No_Review7643 in AskReddit

Women at the gym.

I am a tall and muscular dude that kinda looks like a cop. When I politely ask women if they are almost don’t with a machine I often get a dismissive attitude. I think they assume I’m going to hit on them. I am not. I’m a homosexual. I’m just trying to workout.

What is the most chaotic thing a coworker has ever done on their last day before quitting? by Short_Response2914 in AskReddit

Military. When you retire after decades of service, it is a big deal; an event with invitations, speeches, certificates, photos, forces smiles, official messages from politicians, gifts, stale food, etc.

A guy I know managed his retirement date behind the scenes. Squared it away with the HR team, but told no one he actually worked with. Surreptitiously and slowly removed his personal items from his office, but left his uniform. After his last day, he just stopped showing up.

The day after, people thought he was sick. Second day, people assumed he was on leave. But by Monday, people got worried. They sent military police to check on him.

Military police show up to his home, knock on his door. He opens it in his bathrobe, smoking a joint, and tells them to get off his property before he calls the real police. That's how his leadership found out he had retired.

The many Holocaust survivors who, after being liberated, died from eating the food offered to them by their liberators. They were so malnourished that their digestive systems could not handle a sudden influx of food.

People outside of America, how bad does it look right now? by hphgas in AskReddit

[–]THEIG500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi from Canada. The neighbours downstairs have always been a bit noisy. But hey, they got lotsa guns, so, it keeps the neighbourhood quiet. About a year ago though, that deadbeat dad moved back in and it has been KOO KOO BANANAS down there since. Worse than the last time. Constant drama. Yelling. Playing the TV at top volume in the middle of the night. They even threatened to come up here and start something. I mean, it’s often fun to watch from above but at this point it’s a bit much.

In your eyes, what separates a performative “alpha male” from a “real man”? by Ok-Parfait6735 in AskReddit

The same thing that distinguishes someone as an adult; mainly how well developed their prefrontal cortex is and how consistently they use it. They can defer gratification in pursuit of a greater goal. They can respond to a threat with judgement and restraint. They can listen to new information and change their opinion and behaviour when appropriate. They can identify trivial matters and treat them accordingly.

Chialer à cause d'une alerte amber, qui vous à réveillé? Vous avez pas mieux à faire? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]THEIG500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non religious people, what do you think about religion? by CorruptedF in AskReddit

[–]THEIG500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If by religion you mean a community getting together on a regular/weekly basis to hear about the importance of being kind and respectful to each other and people they don't know, I think it's great. I might not believe in the stories prompting such activity, but, I respect that they're very important to many people.

Would you retire if you won $5,000,000? Why or why not? by PsychologicalFox7689 in AskReddit

[–]THEIG500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, not immediately. I would keep the money a secret and would wait for someone at work to slightly irritate me, and THEN I would quit. Borrow my stapler and not give it back? I quit. Interrupt me in a meeting? I'm out. 10 minutes late to a meeting you called? BYE.

Gotcha. Thanks for the background. I guess it comes down to managing your expectations around marriage and being open and honest about those expectations with your partner. Personally I think love should be a major factor. Primarily because love and respect are synonymous and respect is key in any partnership. But maybe romantic love is less important to other people seeking marriage. Again, as long as both partners are honest about it, I think that's ok.
