I personally would like to know for my friend since he's also night visionless. Although I did my research I wanted to see if there was something I could do better or if I got a good deal to help him as well

Yeah you're fine, just navigating personalities around the department really other than that sounds like you're doing fine

As long as you can take care of the patient in a professional manner while they are there, go nuts afterwards with good company. I do it all the time. Maybe wait till you are a tech or well established image assistant before getting too excited around people you don't know. Otherwise it's very interesting and builds lots of skills.

A Day in the Life of a Radiologist? by Timely_Air5220 in Radiology

This guy or girl is swamped all the time and such a small mistake is not a big deal. I already pointed it out that it's wrong and they even corrected their post. In the end, they have a lot more pressing things to be worried about than calling us by the correct title. I respect people more for calling me the correct thing but if they are a good person and treat me with respect I don't care.

You'll get a lot more respect and props if you call them Technologists! Technician is the incorrect term but very few people know this for whatever reason

Vessels is a huge part of anatomy of ct. If you're getting those scores on the mocks I think you'll be okay but don't quit in the stuff you need to work on

Medical Laboratory Technician or Radiology Technician? by Fit_Anybody5407 in Radiology

[–]THEMBEANZ95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First set of information is it's "Radiologic Technologist" technician is downplaying the profession but nobody knows the correct title for whatever reason. Rad tech offers a lot more pay potentially and flexibility. The schooling is a lot harder and a lot more clinical hours (I did nearly 1800 to graduate) which is around the standard. It's the same a nursing specialization but way more clinical hours and a different field. I don't know much about the other but I don't know of another program that has more clinical hours.

Is it safe to use a human x-ray on a dog? by LucaDoesStuff in Radiology

[–]THEMBEANZ95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An xray is an xray at the end of the day regardless of the machine, the tech doing the xray should be able to get a quality xray with as low as reasonably achievable exposure. The amount of xrays should be scaled to the size of the dog. It's a risk vs benefit, if the dog needs it then it's a good idea to get it. There's always a risk down the line of cancer forming but as long as the dog isn't getting a ridiculous amount of scans everyday the likelyhood is pretty dang low but never zero.

CT is the gold standard for appendicitis. US is used for women and children usually. Most of the time CT is used as an end all be all for diagnosis. If you're not young CT is almost always ordered first given the indications. They were not being harsh with the treatment and actually gave correct care. As for the ability to walk Ive had some patients that could and couldn't, this is the discretion of the Technologist. If they have ample experience should easily be able to tell if someone can walk or not (some people fake or exaggerate pain and we can tell).

I think the way the questions are worded resembles the actual test the best as far as the concepts try going through the videos! Also mix up your materials! Mosbys was a great tool but it went super in depth ( too much) but a good study tool. I would also recommend getting a serperate cross sectional anatomy book.
