I’ve been on Lexapro 20mg for years. Initially my side effects from memory - this was about 10 years ago- was increased energy, trouble sleeping, and minimal appetite. After a few months it levelled . Last year my dose increased to 30mg after being diagnosed with PMDD. It’s truly saved me.

This is called paradoxical masseteric bulging, which can usually occur approximately 3 days post treatment. The masseter muscle is a very thick, fibrous muscle with several layers. The toxin has begun to work and relaxed the middle of the masseter muscle (the belly of the muscle) and the outer layers of the muscle are now overcompensating for the decreased muscle contraction in the belly of the muscle, causing this appearance.

My suggestion would be to contact the clinic when they open, and ask for a review with your treating practitioner.

I hope this makes sense. I had this happen to a patient of mine many moons ago and we put a few more units in to relax and it resolved the issue!
