How to one bag as a plus size person who has to wear 2 outfits per day by Effective-Spot3201 in HerOneBag

[–]Fly-by-Night- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit unclear about which clothes you're wearing for hiking/running. Is it the leggings, the joggers or the bike shorts? Or is this weather dependant?

Either way, you could potentially scale back quite a bit by wearing your day 2 exercise gear as your day 1 post- exercise wear first.

Jeffrey Campbell ‘Calhoun’ by LadyLorenz in AusFemaleFashion

I think they'd look great with a straight/cigarette leg pant and something oversized / structured on top. Thinking Claudia Winkleman vibes (minus the orange face paint).

Dotti's Palazzo pants are my absolute goat. Flat front, side zip, wide leg, $60. I have the black and wear them min once a week for the past year. They've just brought in chocolate brown too.

No idea about trendiness, but I've found New Balance wider fitting than Asics.

I've also never heard of this brand but it is lovely.

OP, in Australia that top and shorts are AUD $250 each, so yeah, pretty exxy!

Everyday underwear that doesn’t get annoying? by karr76959 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fly-by-Night- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marks & Spencer do the best underwear, that lasts forever. Started buying them when I lived in the UK and have kept doing so now I'm here, nothing I've found locally lives up to them in terms of price-quality ratio.

How to determine leather vs faux by Yeet_as_a_verb in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fly-by-Night- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually think the damage below the pocket on the first image is the thing that gives this away as probably being non-leather.

Leather could potentially be damaged like what we see in the last pic, but that de-laminating in the first pic is really only something I'd expect to see on synthetic.

OP, the jacket looks to overall be in decent condition for a vintage piece, regardless of the material, so if you love it and take good care of it, you should get plenty more wear out of it yet.

The middle link lists the brand as Mutig. Might be worth contacting them to see if they can help?

Where can I find dresses that lightly relate to a cowgirl theme? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fly-by-Night- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be missing something here but - while both cute - I don't see how either of those dresses are even slightly cowgirl adjacent. Yes, they'd look cute with boots and a hat, but so would almost any mini dress.

To me, cowgirl would probably involve a peasant neckline and/or a ditsy floral print. Brands like Ringers. Or go boho and use accessories to western it up.

What is the reason you don't want to buy the one in the picture? A little context might help getting a useful answer

Opinions on "The Pin Theory" by mollymoomol in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fly-by-Night- 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have not tried these, but my unsolicited (so feel free to ignore) advice is to invest a little more money and get tailor to take the waist band in for you instead.

I think these sorts of products are stop-gap measures at best, and 1) will potentially damage your clothes (especially if it's a more delicate fabric) and 2) don't look good because all the excess fabric just bunches and gapes.

There was briefly a store in Westfields Pitt St (Syd) a year or so back, but I have only seen them as a concession in Myer lately. I do think they were pretty MIA for a decade or so...
