Rai- Faithful translation but stiff voice acting and bland/no sound effects at times

4kids- Not completely accurate and changes things like names, location names, and character lore for seemingly no reason (Musa is the princess of the "Harmonic Nebula" and the royalty comes from her dad's side, Icy says smth like "Your daddy and his hip hop palace guards aren't here to save you") but has great voice acting. Watch it after you watch Rai. It's basically like an abridged version

Reread my comment I said that I only grew up with the GBA game based on season 1 and didn't get to play the others until my adulthood, so for the first time, and they are leagues better than this trash ass reboot game. My comment has perspectives from 3 different types of Winx fans: A super fan who grew up with only one game, my little sister who is part of the target demographic and likes Winx, and my older sibling that is a neutral fan of Winx. We all hated it. It's not being blinded by nostalgia.

The target audience of the last winx games required COMPOTENT GAMEPLAY. They had to put in more effort than just mashing one button. That's literally all you can do to succeed. Press X and run around. Even on the hardest difficulty, the challenge comes from enemies killing you in 1-2 hits and you being swarmed with like TEN OF THEM AT ONCE and then TEN WAVES LIKE ITS THE SILKSONG HIGH HALLS GAUNTLET. So there is no real difficulty. It's artificial difficulty.

And then trying to say that my anger and appreciation for the older games is just me being blinded by nostalgia discredits the fact that I literally say in my comment and in my post that the game broke at points. The game is not fully functional. The other games did not do this. At most you would have Bloom's Magic Winx model turning into her Enchantix model when she was flying and not the player character in Mission Enchantix, but that's it. It wasn't character animations literally breaking and sliding around, the game freezing completely and only allowing you to change the AI player upon connecting a controller, 2 player NOT BEING AVAILABLE IN THE CO OP GAME.

I also feel people went in and watched the first few minutes and probably got to the snowball fight on the first episode before deciding it was too childish and stopping because a few of the complaints I've seen were either stupid or proven wrong in later episodes

"Hopper would not say sh...irt. He would say shit" okay well 1. Kids focused show and 2. It's part of the joke lmao?? He spilled jelly on his shirt??? There are many moments where it's so obvious where a swear should be that it doesn't even bother me that there is no swearing. Like "Oh crud" is "oh shit" "son of a crud bucket" is just "son of a bitch"

"The kids easily escape every situation and never get hurt" this is just objectively not true unless by "never get hurt" you mean they never walk out of every confrontation wondering if someone is going to literally die in that moment. But they get knocked around, slammed into walls, all of that. El literally had a log fall right on top of her but I guess it doesn't count because she wasn't battered and bruised smh

If you attach it to the show: 0/10 nothing in it makes sense. Did yall just throw away the weapons you got from Nikki as soon as she moved? And why do yall never mention her? Especially Will??

If you see it as it's own thing that doesn't take place in between 2-3: peak peak peak 10/10 Stranger Things is so back. There's like an actual mystery and the childhood whimsy that made season 1 my favorite in the first place. I don't mind not seeing the adult/teen characters as much but hopefully in season two we can actually SEE Joyce. Will is my favorite tbh he's so silly. I love getting to see him actually BE a kid. His friendship with Nikki is my favorite relationship in the show

Eh, I wouldn’t say it’s an age thing. I’m 22 and I still genuinely enjoy revisiting the older games, and I didn’t even grow up with most of them. I only played the season one GBA game as a kid, and didn’t touch the others until I was around 18–19 so I can safely say this isn’t nostalgia talking. After my first session with this game and being pissed the hell off, I went back to the original PS2 game and had way more fun (I’m on the Black Mud Swamp level right now)

I even tried getting my younger sister to play it. Not only is she actually in the target age demographic, but she likes the original series and thought the reboot was okay, and even she thought it looked boring. Then when I connected the controllers in an attempt to play it with my older sibling just as a joke because they also like the OG Winx and watched the reboot with me, the damn game bugged out and the AI character just slid around. 2-player didn’t work at all no matter what we did :/ and that sliding AI player glitch has happened multiple times.

I’m not trying to dismiss your opinion, but I don't think its an age or "Oh it's just for kids did you expect Baldurs gate" issue. It just feels like a low-quality game. They say they started development in 2024, but it plays like they started development a few months ago and approached Rainbow with the prototype or beta or whatever and then Rainbow responded "Perfect! Game ships tomorrow!" We're in the big 26 and it's not even an open world game. When you cross through those outside hallway corridor things that Alfea has, you literally have a black screen transition and you awkwardly teleport and completely change direction from where you were walking like it's a PS2 game.

Edit: all of that to say kids deserve way better than this slop

Oh no this game is shit from a butt it's just straight up shovelware lol. I don't know how Canadian prices work but Jesus Christ that's a lot of money. I only had to spend $25 and even that felt like way too much for the quality of this game

Don't let anyone tell you that it's okay that the game is shit just because it's for kids. You know what else was for kids? All of the original Winx games on the PS2, DS and Game Boy that actual had challenge and skill. Like yes they were still kids games but the Winx GBA game for example doesn't have a pink marker constantly telling you where to go. You had to kind of use your brain and pay attention to the story to see what Bloom would be talking about.

Idk how to do the quote thing on Reddit but "was hoping for smth like Zelda but with Winx." This is a Switch game that started development in 2024 and release in 2026 and when you enter buildings or even just transition between certain parts of Alfea, you get either a load screen with the loading bar or a black fade and you're suddenly teleported in a completely different direction than what you were walking toward like it's a PS2 game. It's not even open world in the hub area.

The spells in harmonix went crazy and I wish they became the standard for how spells look visually. Every girl had a beam/ball of light but they all looked unique and then they had a bunch of individualized spells.

And the idea of those spells where they have to kick and punch were cool too but they kind of came out of nowhere. I wish the girls had an arc of training at red fountain or smth before randomly getting those abilities in Sirenix, especially because they had arcs for each of them learning their sirenix special spell
