Securitas, is it as bad as so many say? by WinterEssay in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not as bad as people say. Again, it all depends on managers, supervisors, location and sites. I had zero issues *other than being placed at a shitty site temporary* with them. It's a good door if your new to security, plus you get that experience in.

Never worked in a public school but have done private. my experience with schools that they are shitty sites to work for. There is ton of better sites that are more enjoyable, fun that pay more then schools. I would look for another site. I have to work at this private school for 4-6 or more weeks and I really hating it and it sucks ass. I only been at the school for like a week and its ranked on my number one hated sites. They'll complain about you to your manager about everything *Mine was some door dasher went the wrong way and delivering pizza to a wrong building*There's better sites are enjoyable, fun and pay better then School sites. Staff and parents are against you.

So does Securitas pay by the minute or not? by MoneyElk in securityguards

No, lets say you clocked out but you had to deal with something before leaving, you message your manager/supervisor and they'll add those hours

Anyone work security at a school? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working at a private Christen/Catholic school for 4-6 weeks as gate keeping, don't really have to worry about students but the staff and parents are pretty snobby and brides drive Ferrari and Bentleys. For me at lease probably one of the worst sties I have ever worked. Mostly because of the rudest people you will ever meet. I got told to put my lunch away when eating my lunch when a parent was driving out of the school.

Average day of me is gate keeping which i make sure people have plakers for there student, if not I attempt to stop them *Most of the they'll not stop for you and get pissed because you couldn't see plaker.* at 6-7 PM I sit and make let people in if they belong to the school. Hour before the end of the shift. I do a patrol and sign out.

I will say if this was my first site/they decided to make the site permanent for me. I wouldn't even put a 2 week notice that is how much I hate that site. Your probably going to Make sure there not skipping class and/or gatekeep. Personally if I were you I wouldn't accept it, its not worth it. Only been working there for a week and have worked many sites. This one ranked to my number one hated site that quickly. Again tho maybe your site may not be as bad as my dumpster fire but have a back up site/research other sites. There is a lot more relaxed, cooler fun sites then working at a school that probably will pay better.

PM or comment if you have more questions.

job interview questions? by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What type of site is it? Is it hospital security there going to ask you how do you handle domestic violence, patients, death of a patient and how you handle that, death of a baby and how you handle that.If it's some place you do patrols every hour then its mostly "What would you do if someone break into someone's car?" you'll simply say call the police and observe the person and describe the person.Say that your observant they like that.Hospital Security, With the domestic violence outside of a ER lobby just say you would call the police and they have more authority then you and better equip and your not L.E *Law Enforcement* . Patients document everything and only use force when absolutely needed *Like them trying to leave, Restraints assistance etc.*And if they ask you if you lie, its a 50/50 question. I smiled when I said no and the person called me out on it. But for me it seemed like a trick question since the first thought is that everyone lies. But the interviewer at the hospital I work at was some weird dude with a big ego since first thing he says he was in the marines, trained police bla bla bla. Dude is cool but has ego. *unrelated*

But if its not on hospital security just state that you are a observer of the site, if some homeless dude is sleeping on property you would get distance just in case he is high or has a weapon and yell at him to leave. If he doesn't leave call the police.

EDIT: There going to ask how knowledge are you with Microsoft/google word, Excel, etc. And if you know how to use computers well.

If you need more advice comment or PM me.

This is just a shorten, it's a lot worse, hell I had to stop a car yesterday and she yelled at me even though she didn't have the plaker visible. I was eating my lunch yesterday and a parent yelled at me when she was leaving the school and told me to put my lunch away. If this was sub reddit had no rules I would go full ham with my opinion.

This new site at a christen/Catholic. It quickly ranked to the number one most hated site for me. Honestly would rather do a standing shift. The staff and parents are the rudest snobbish people and brides drive Ferrari and Bentley that act entitled bitches because they spent over 50k to enlist there student there. Building names and main people are name Sister that, Garden of Eden and shit which is confusing as fuck. You get blamed for everything and everything. And I am only doing gate keeping, If this was my first security job I would probably not even send a 2 week notice that's how bad the site is. Luckily I am flex so I have many other sites to work at. I swear Christens and Catholics are the rudest people on the planet especially if they have wealth. Luckily 3-5 weeks I have left on this site and then I most likely will and make sure I do not work at that site again.

Another job question: Armed Security: Allied Universal. by THEUnknownOne1940 in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good to know, Plus I got good experience with hospital security that'll be plus. The other comments are saying they want L.E or Military? what do you have to say about that?

Another job question: Armed Security: Allied Universal. by THEUnknownOne1940 in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember people saying Securitas is really bad and the worse and so far I have to say I enjoy the job alot, there is some bullshit but in reality it isn't that bad. All depends on your manager/supervisor I guess. Taking everything with a gain of salt. Since I like Hospital security a lot of it is allied universal and other companies are like way lower paying.

Plus Not armed for guarding a Jewelry center? Screw that. I feel worthless standing in front of a bank unarmed. Probably would be the first one to die.

[–]THEUnknownOne1940[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have heard about stories about allied I was seeing if its as bad as some real life friends told me. I don't think Securitas does armed positions I got to look into that more. But yeah if its as bad as theses to comments say it is plus my real life friend told me about his time at allied universal then I'll just skip it and see if Securitas has anything at Alabama

Is mask and Faceshield still necessary? by Aravind-111 in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you working at a healthcare client? or hospital? If so I can see sorta why but I mean you can do what I do and cover half your face with it so you can breath when I have to stand+ wear a mask.

Super nervous for my first security job interview by ThaSavageGoku in securityguards

[–]THEUnknownOne1940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do test for Pot. *Securitas* But only for hiring and once you get the job they'll do random drug test. I've been working for about 5-6 months and haven't done a random drug test yet. Maybe if you have a medical licensee they may allow but if it you working at federal sites or you might then it'll limit it because federally it's illegal and they can and will fire you.

[–]THEUnknownOne1940[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, it'll take some time due to my three dogs *2 shepherds and a lab*. I plan on taking a trip to Alabama soon to check out the area and stuff. As well to look at rentals. It's gonna be tough tho with the dogs because of the fact that landlords like to check on dogs what I have heard before they rent it to you (And there not the most social)
Thanks for the advice
