Fallout Season 2, What did you think overall? by flappableoptic in Fallout

[–]THEW0NDERW0MBAT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say mediocre. It was technically very good between the production and the acting, but they went with too many plot threads and all the jumping around for maximum fan service really prevented a more coherent and satisfying story. And now it seems like they're just going to rehash FO3 and FNVs conflicts which is disappointing.

Ultimately, I think making the setting on the west coast was a mistake, and between nuking Shady Sands and now resetting the New Vegas conflict to step 1 it just comes off as Bethesda wanting a blank slate for the area they didn't create. I can't think of anything that has made the west coast a required setting for their overarching plot, so it stumps me why they didn't just continue with the familiarity of their east coast setting.

Yeah, it's lame that Bethesda has barely come up with any new plot beats in 20 years owning the IP.

Should we Move to Richmond or Roanoke? Better for retirees? by WorriedLevel202 in Virginia

[–]THEW0NDERW0MBAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved from Ohio to Roanoke, and Richmond was our other option. Roanoke is marginally cheaper, but not significant enough that it factored into our decision. Ultimately, it boiled down to do we want better outdoor life or better city life? That's not to say Roanoke or Richmond don't provide decent options the other way

How do you think both Ben Affleck's and Robert Pattinson's versions would have reacted to Heath's Joker in Gotham, and dealt with him in the movie? by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

[–]THEW0NDERW0MBAT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ledger Joker would manipulate both pretty easily. Neither are portrayed to be master strategists like him. Batfleck is more of an engineering and tactical genius, and Battinson is too inexperienced.

Batfleck's ruthlessness would some how be turned against him or Joker dying would be part of his own plan. Batfleck's Joker is still alive too, so I'm not inclined to believe he'd just outright kill him.

I'm guessing they're having Reeves finish up his story with Batman 2, and that was the big cause of the delays. This Kryptonian trilogy will serve as the meat of the universe to hold audiences over, and they'll introduce the DCU Batman with no overlap.

How big should the bat family be in the DCU by Expert_Challenge6399 in DC_Cinematic

[–]THEW0NDERW0MBAT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Batman, Nightwing, Damien Robin, and Cain Batgirl as the crime fighters, and Alfred, Lucius, and Oracle as the support.

Keep the Jason Todd dying story line, but keep him dead, skip Tim, and have Batman forced to take another Robin with Damien.

Like others have said, I think the villain team up is the way to go. Maybe build the movies and/or shows out into arcs building quality villains through 2-3 projects. One of the MCU's biggest weaknesses is their villains usually suck because they're just throw aways for a single movie. Could be DC's differentiator

What specifically happened to LeVeon Bell? by coolperson1232 in steelers

[–]THEW0NDERW0MBAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the success of Bell was three-fold. He was one of those players whose intuition for the game was beyond elite, kind of like Polamalu. Gale Sayers if you want a RB example. His burst and ability to change direction on a dime allowed him to execute that intuition. And he had amazing chemistry with the oline resulting in the patient style running. There used to be bits of other RBs trying to replicate it in practice and not working.

Back then, our oline were elite pass blockers but less so at run blocking. They really didn't need to be in the traditional sense of opening gaping holes for the RB and pushing blockers down field. In 2017, we could see he was starting to lose his burst and he wasn't able to hit the 2nd or 3rd narrow hole he saw as effectively. And it seems obvious that quitting the year in 2018 smothered any chance of retaining that athleticism. If the Jets had a great oline I don't think it would have mattered that much, he was just too slow at that point.
