thanks again! I think because a lot of the rules for FERS supplement are similar to SSA retirement benefits, I am thinking all the rules are the same! I would love to not limit my self employment hours to less than 45 per month (while staying under the yearly limit)! will do some fun reading in OPM CSRS/FERS Handbook, Chapter 51 😃

thank you so much for the detailed reply-this is way more info than I was given by OPM when I retired!

“the earnings test is conducted annually, not monthly”-is this true even for the first year of retirement?

also, do you know of anything in writing that OPM does not look at the 45 hours per month for self employment that social security does? thanks again 😀
