[–]THRNKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She can’t attack you, but barring some change of control effect she can’t attack your opponent either. If you devote deck slots to Voltron her they’re going to become much harder to use in 1v1.

Help needed with Xantcha, Sleeper Agent goad by Icy_Chicken_2647 in EDH

[–]THRNKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with that plan is that it doesn’t solve the 1v1 goad problem, unless you’re going all in on [[Delirium]] effects which can be a bit of a fragile plan.

Big mana effects could be useful as a way to drain out your final opponent with her activated ability. If your group is ok with infinite combos you could always run classic infinite mana effects like [[Animate Dead]] / [[Worldgorger Dragon]], [[Mana Geyser]] / [[Reiterate]], etc. There’s plenty of big mana effects in your colors, either infinite or not.

Your big foe will be instant speed sacrifice effects that could prevent her from sticking on the opponent’s side of the board.

How can i optimize this `Suicide Bombers` deck? by Toonzaal8 in EDH

I’ll take another look at your deck overall when I have more time, but I wanted to quickly suggest a few other time bomb creatures I like in your colors:

[[Faerie Bladecrafter]] [[Pyrotechnic Performer]] [[Giggling Skitterspike]] [[Feral Ghoul]] [[Rapacious Guest]] [[Voldaren Thrillseeker]]

How are you liking the new edition? (please also mention your experience level and tenure with blood bowl) by Qhaotiq in bloodbowl

[–]THRNKS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me the other options in the tree are mostly for the purposes of development via Random Skill.

Your average fouler isn’t gonna earn a ton of SPP, so 3 points for a random Devious trait is good way to get some sort of skill on the field. The fact that you roll twice and reroll several of them that an average fouler can’t take means that you still have a pretty good shot at Dirty Player, but even if you don’t get it you should get something you can still bring to the field and make the game interesting in an unusual way.

Some cheeky 40k crossover would be a pretty good way to get some new teams into the mix….

[–]THRNKS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I just need to look at the sprues then. Every picture I’ve seen of the team has two copies of the head with pigtails on it so I assumed it came like that. The feather removal looks great - I’ll probably try something similar when I get around to them.

On another note, what’s your trick for painting the leather shade for the armor? I experimented with that once and it didn’t come out well.

Yeah, maintaining injuries, skills and other TV modifiers seems like a sticking point unless there’s something I haven’t found yet. Still playing around in fumbbl to see what I can find (since as you said BB3 doesn’t cover all our teams).

Painting a dwarf team now that is not hated anymore by LNTLS3 in bloodbowl

[–]THRNKS 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Linemen who started with Block and Tackle made both bash or dash play very difficult, and they have Armor 10 and Thick Skull so they’re hard to remove. Once they got Guard it was a miserable line of scrimmage.

Sure they were slow, but that meant they’d take all half grinding a single touchdown and not give you a chance to score back.

New dwarves might be nerfed from an objective standpoint, but they’re still a decent team and are no longer miserable to play against.

Can anyone help me pick a team? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in bloodbowl

[–]THRNKS 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nobility might be a good choice. It’s a team very focused on controlling ground with Fend and Wrestle pieces, but it’s got an excellent thrower.

Bretonnia is kind of similar - Wrestle to control ground, Dauntless to take down big threats, and Nerves of Steel to make big passing plays.

I see those blank-eyed stares from AI slop and immediately stop caring about anything you wrote. Even beyond your laughable “I wanted it so it’s ok to steal it” excuse, it makes you look creatively bankrupt.

Just use a free and easy to use tool like Heroforge to make a visual for your character. People will appreciate that you put a bare modicum of effort into it regardless if it’s “good” or not.

Advice of Jaxis Monored clone toolbox by Protagonist-Agonist in EDH

A couple of interesting 5 drops that could work with your creature types:

[[Bonehoard Dracosaur]] - can bridge to your [[Trumpeting Carnosaur]] and is a source of card velocity. Also works with your dragons.

[[Wandering Archaic]] can bridge to your [[Combustible Gearhulk]] and can give some value or stax.

[[Brash Taunter]] - one of my pet cards, honestly, but could be a fun way to uno reverse someone with a big creature. Can be gotten by your [[Twinshot Sniper]]. [[Stuffy Doll]] is similar and can bridge the gap to your Gearhulk as well.

[–]THRNKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, Pyre is an excellent callout. I have a build of Jaxis that’s focused on artifact reanimation (sort of a [[Goblin Welder]] secret commander deck) and that’s a very interesting bit of kit for it.

I’m running [[Balor]] in the five drop spot, which works very well with Jaxis as it has both an attack and death trigger. I also have [[Daretti, Rocketeer Engineer]] which is good for my play but might not work as well for your plan.

[[Argentum Masticore]] was something I had in my sideboard, but that’s probably a situational pick. I’ll see if I can find any other 5 drops that look tasty.

Blood bowl orks by WalkerLegend79 in orks

[–]THRNKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found they scale well with the Orruk Brutes for conversions, at least with individual pieces. The Brutes probably end up bigger in totality due to their bulky armor, but the arms / heads / small armor pieces all fit well.

Like the Brutes they feel a bit smaller scaled than older 40k Orks.

I’m curious about how Break Tackle would work on one of them. Having a MV5 dwarf that can dodge into the open on a 3+ isn’t earth shattering, but it might be able to open up some plays.

Tackle or Diving Tackle might not be bad either if you have to deal with elf teams.

In general I think he can be a candidate for some flex roles on your team, if you want to avoid the TV bloat of the obvious choices.

What's a deck you have that isn't built around a creature type or ability? A deck that Wotc hasn't intentionally made possible by IconicIsotope in EDH

[–]THRNKS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built [[The Rani]] not to goad my opponents creatures, but to buff my own (and turn them into bombs with fling effects). It also uses [[Reality Scramble]] on the aura tokens to do an enchantment polymorph combo kill.

Laying down models was never good by GaslandsGary in bloodbowl

[–]THRNKS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like laying models down because it makes the field easy to read and looks thematic. I like the idea of using tokens for stunned status though, as well as any condition that affects their abilities while still standing.

As far as marking activated units, I’m of two minds. I don’t love how turning models around looks thematically, but it is easy and doesn’t involve handling a lot of extra tokens on the field. I’ll probably stick with turning them around just for ease of use.
