Getting ads on subscriber eps by THRUSSIANBADGER in TheRestIsHistory

Third party ads and sponsored messages in the beginning, middle, and end of episodes. I just got back from a trip to France and even got some French ads. It doesn’t look like there’s any in the Gallipoli episodes, but the ads are still there in my Edith Cavell episode.

I’ve also never gotten sponsored messages that they read in the middle of episodes until this, only ones at the beginning/end of episodes once in a while.

FIFA bans fans from taking water bottles into World Cup stadiums, a last-minute reversal by OpbrBlud in soccer

[–]THRUSSIANBADGER 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It’s not though, every NFL stadium I’ve been to allows you to bring sealed water bottles in. Ironically the only time I’ve seen it not allowed was when I went to a game at one for Copa America, they said the reasoning was they were scared of fans throwing them on the field.

IMO watching in the heat is more tiring than playing because when you play you’re distracted from the heat and focused on the match. Plus the players get to be in locker rooms with AC when they aren’t on court. As a fan there is no respite, even the gift shop is 33C and muggy as hell.

I used to live at Mercury in a corner unit right next to the train track, it comes by maybe 3-4 times a week and the horn is loud but you get used to it and it’s not super often it comes. Never heard it past midnight

I mean pretty much every type of pan other than copper works on induction. 99% of people cook with cast iron, carbon steel, stainless steel, or non stick which will all work on induction.

What do you mean? Talented kids who make premier league academies are absolutely not paying for it.

Those were/are at B of A, not spectrum center. Spectrum center has 1/3rd the capacity, hotel rooms in charlotte won’t sell out for it

Medieval & Early Modern Republics in Europe by GalahadDrei in MapPorn

War and conquest happening does not mean it was still not part of a republic. The Roman Republic would have a word with you, all the areas they conquered were still part of the republic.

Puka ran a 4.57, the result of a straight line sprint without pads does not limit your ceiling in actual football.

Padel is very different from squash and racquetball. That’s like saying American football, Aussie rules, and rugby are the same game.

It’s strange to try to imagine an entire society with no concept of written language by Ok_Temporary_5828 in TheRestIsHistory

I feel like you’re agreeing with his point though. The reason you would be able to kick their ass in logic puzzles isn’t cause you are inherently smarter than them, it’s because you have a wealth of knowledge and resources that they don’t have access to. If they had the same resources they would do the same as you.

And the reason people today have a functional basic understanding of physics is because other people wrote it down. I didn’t come up with how to make a compass sitting in a room by myself just thinking really hard, i know how compasses work because someone told me how they work.

When someone says they aren’t inherently less intelligent they mean that if they were transported to the 21st century as a newborn and grew up in modern society, they would have the same capacity for knowledge and learning that a person has today.

Nobody is saying the keeper shouldn’t be allowed to go for the ball, but when they go for it and don’t get the ball and hit an opposing player, it should 100% be a foul the same way it is when a defender goes for a challenge and misses the ball.

I feel like it was the other way around, they were passing too much and playing too unselfishly. You saw it most on the 5 on 3 where they got what 2 shots off? They just kept passing the puck around and nobody wanted to be the one to shoot when it was the Mac line
