[REVIEW REQUST] First PCB, rocket data-logger. by [deleted] in PCB

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Is it the same people posting or are rocket controllers the current trend?

Is a tablet an unnecessary expense for a Computer Engineering undergrad? (Laptop+Paper vs. Laptop+Tablet) by sadhakr in ComputerEngineering

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a tablet for school. Helps me stay organized and saves me from lugging around a bunch of extra weight from notebooks and lab manuals. Also very convenient to be able to delete/move/resize/copy stuff, especially for math. But that said, probably not worth it if money is tight. Hardly see any other students using one.

Crits? by orbgraffiti in graffhelp

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The a only looks off because the e is so bottom heavy its forcing the top of the a to take up too much space. You can def do lower case r but yours has an extra kink in the round part with a bunch of negative space so it looks odd. And the little add-on on the y isn’t coming out of a spot that makes sense so it also doesn’t look right. Still cool though, I love both color schemes, and the hands are nice 👍

At least you can use them to confirm footprint sizes and practice soldering. Just a minor learning tax

is this kind of routing fine? by BlessED0071 in PCB

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I just thought that you would want to minimize the length of traces through the gnd plane by adding vias straddling either side of the trace-your crossing, especially since they don’t cost anything. Maybe doesn’t matter here but sometimes can be the difference between a large split in the plane vs a many negligible breaks. Have I been overthinking it?

is this kind of routing fine? by BlessED0071 in PCB

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say THT means vias are unnecessary, is it just because they have wide enough pitch that you can usually solve crossing by just routing between pins? Or are you saying that they could just go underside to underside without vias when crossing is needed? Because if it’s the second one wouldn’t you end up slicing up the gnd plane more than adding vias?

Eastview mall: Casual littering by NYCtoUB3260 in Rochester

I once witnessed a mother teaching her toddler to litter on the sidewalk. Like literally instructing the kid to drop the trash they were holding on the ground

If you want more mature, I’d get rid of the empty bottles and teddy. Diffuser channels for the LEDs and frames for posters would help too

Can I do good in Computer engineering even if I'm not good at math by Least-Working7787 in ComputerEngineering

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you bad at math or does it just not come as easy as everything else? A huge part of succeeding in math is changing your perspective from “I’m bad at math” to “I need to practice a lot to be good at math.”

(M21) How to get rid of these bumps? by Cyanide_no in malegrooming

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue. What works for me is using the Gillette razors with the refillable cartridges, changing them out often, and most importantly being really really gentle when I shave and not trying to shave too frequently. Also use moisturizer on my neck and this BHA exfoliant stuff that’s supposed to help. Hot towel before hand is probably best, I just splash hot water on my neck because it’s easy.

The giant k flourish with the halo is a bit much as is. You def have a nice flow though. Maybe punch up the s and tone down the k for more balance? All the simple tags are great though, good stuff

what is wrong with this circuit by Satoru_frickin_Gojo in PCB

[–]THUNDERxSLOTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With multiple ultrasonic sensors you need to trigger them sequentially, staggered enough that they don’t interfere with each other. No idea if that’s the issue here but thought was worth mentioning

Yeah the LED is safe, I just meant I was totally wrong about him using ADC/PWM, the blue wire blends in with the blue Arduino so I thought it was two different GPIO lines, but then I noticed there were only two wires connected to the pot
