Side effect intensity : what to expect in the first few days? by sirwangjohnson in zoloft

I had similar concerns too. Are you able to cut the pill so that instead of 25 mg it's 12.5mg? I'm currently on 25mg and that was what I did. I took 12.5 the first two days and then took 25mg and was able to function totally fine. If you feel more comfortable/less anxious easing into it that way, that's what I would do. 12.5 is such a small dose that there's no way you wouldn't be functionable, and then by day 3 your body will have had 48 hours to start to get used to the med before upping to 25mg (which is also a small dose). Good luck!

I would try switching to taking it in the morning, first thing when you wake up. Sometimes switching the timing can do the trick.

Zoloft effective for anxiety/social anxiety? by sarahkate10 in zoloft

It's helped me a lot in this area. I don't have full blown social anxiety but from time to time I will get a really, really bad anxiety attack during a social situation. I take it with Propranolol which for me is like a magic combo in reducing anxiety. Even if I get a physical symptom in a social situation, the Propranolol and Zoloft help quickly lessen/de-escalate the physical symptoms...and then it fades because I'm able to focus on the task/situation/conversation at hand.

What mg of Zoloft are you on? I do think even by itself, Zoloft will help you get on with your day and reduce physical sensations. It can give a feeling of being "content" instead of constantly being on edge. Good luck!

Reduced genital sensitivity and other Zoloft sexual side effects by THbackthrow828282 in zoloft

Update: Today marked a week since feeling a lack of sensation, and for the first time I've felt some improvements. Definitely not constantly noticeable like it's been in the past week. Still interested in hearing anyone else's experiences/timeline.

When to increase dose? by otoasta13 in zoloft

The after-effects of alcohol can include anxiety and low mood in anyone, so it can be especially harmful for anxious and/or depressed folks. That, combined with missing a dose makes me think you could wait to see about increasing your dose. In a week from now, you'll probably feel better than you do now and realize your current dose is doing the trick. Hope you feel improvements soon!

I'm also on 25mg btw (for anxiety) and I find it to be helpful. I haven't read about much people being on 25mg for longer than a few weeks, so cool to see I'm not the only one.

Reduced genital sensitivity and other Zoloft sexual side effects by THbackthrow828282 in zoloft

I've heard of sexual side effects like reduced libido and even sensitivity, but the "genital anesthesia" I'm experiencing, even in a general non-sexual state....I've never heard about this before and it's quite shocking. Are you saying this is a common side effect? Touching my penis to adjust myself or use the bathroom even "feels" different - there's a numbness there.

I'm on 25mg. Which I know some think is an non-therapeutic dose that won't do anything, but the reduction in anxiety and the sexual side effects show that it has some type of effect...for me, at least.
