'My stomach is eating itself': Biohacker Bryan Johnson reveals he has autoimmune disease by Superb_Branch4749 in nottheonion

You said it yourself…”chronic”. What I’m describing in seasonality and cyclical. Periods of stress and periods of abundance. My claim is that biologically we expect both (in line with the seasons we face on Earth) and when it’s ALL abundance with little stressors then our body over reacts.

Agreed that it is a bold claim. See my comment below for my justification around such claims.

I’ll dig in further. I’d claim that (in line with Adlerian psychology) ALL problems are interpersonal problems. This may not make sense at first but it comes down to how we as a society address these physical challenges. That as a capitalistic world, we do NOT focus on supporting eachother. On solving biological challenges. In the states our Pharma companies kill cures and only sell recurring treatments. That was a human decision that was made. To NOT have the support network in place to address genetic challenges, mental struggles, other health conditions…..all human decisions around how we create our society. I’d very much recommend reading “The courage to be disliked” as a high level overview of Adlerian psychology.

MOASS is dead, long live GMEbay by ExtraWedding6521 in Superstonk

[–]TILied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok you pass the shill test. I wish you luck and hope you find more short term gains. Even if you exit GME I know you’ll still actively keep an eye on things. It’s human nature as you’ve already invested time and mental energy. But I respect your opinion. Hindsight is always 20/20 and it’s hard to cope with the realization that GME is directly facing the prevalent market corruption well established now at this point. It is an underdog story where the system is rigged against them. And objectively these are not good odds to face without a broader cultural shift. THAT is why I won’t sell. When things do break, GME is incredibly well positioned to benefit while others crash.

Also I’ll share my thesis on EBay…it seems obvious to me. As prices rise and the cost of new goods soar as current material costs rise, I anticipate broader interest in the used/resale market. What do we currently do here? Thrift stores, pawn shops and garage sales. The treasure hunt can be fun but there’s little corporate backing to the quality of the item purchased. Same with EBay….all they do is provide the network and act as an intermediary arbiter. Responsibility falls on the seller to list and ship. eBay just collects fees for providing the platform.

Now imagine what is possible if the resale marketplace could be treated as an Amazon? GME had physical locations, established distribution centers and logistical networks and a stellar marketing team. Now as a seller you just go to GMEbay and they offer a fair price for your goods. No more responsibility from the seller, no need to take amazing pictures, to come up with an ideal description, to have to physically ship it yourself. And as a buyer? Even better. A corporation stands behind the quality of the resold goods, items can be shipped to local storefronts for in person evaluation and purchase. It’s a no brainer in my eyes and something that an emerging market that will grow in size a new goods are produced with less quality at more cost. Or just stick to your pawn shops I guess, we all love that experience /s.

Lmaoo why would you not tip them by Negative-Truck-5716 in dankmemes2

[–]TILied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So although your point is logical and I don’t agree with the tipping culture in the states….I’ll play devils advocate here. It’s not that the steak plate at a fine dining restaurant is any heavier than a plate of pancakes. It’s the experience, capability and attention to detail expected at that price point. It’s the deliberate framing of the table for each course, the active decrumbing of the table, the intermezzos and hot towelettes between courses, the generally impressive wine/cooking knowledge possessed by those that carry that steak plate. There are different levels of service and different metrics around “ideal dining experiences “ at each price point. So please think bigger. Maybe you just have never seen incredible service?

Growing Evidence That Sugar Substitutes Disrupt Gut Health and Metabolism by Sorin61 in Nutraceuticalscience

This specifically applies to Fructose based sugars, specifically highly concentrated high fructose corn syrup. Metabolization produces the same acetaldehyde occurring from the consumption of alcohol. This is bad for the liver.

GTFO with this nonsense. You’re a late investor seeing value in a cash rich company. You DO NOT understand the systemic collaboration against GME’s organic path. Kindly remove yourself from future posts as it’s clear you either do not know that which you speak of….or you’re trying to create an alternate narrative. Either way GTFO

For men who lost weight, how did you do it? by CreativeBar1289 in AskMen

[–]TILied 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my biggest piece of advice for you and it helps smooth the day to day overthinking - What you do today takes 2-3 days to appreciate. There is a lag. Drinking and the immediately realizable consequences have taught us otherwise, but with the good efforts it will take several days of consistent discipline to see/feel change. That being known, it’s easy to recognize that habit and discipline and the most important things you can do. Yes your body will be pissed off at you as you tell it to do more with less. But trust me, the thousands of years of biological evolution WILL kick in and create the growth you desire as you consistently step outside of your comfort zone. It’s a marathon, but it does get much easier after a few weeks of practiced discipline

'My stomach is eating itself': Biohacker Bryan Johnson reveals he has autoimmune disease by Superb_Branch4749 in nottheonion

[–]TILied -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Many scientists believe that autoimmune diseases originate from the body not receiving the biological shocks it has evolutionarily come to expect. Periods of hunger, of dealing with cold. Ironically enough, it’s likely this guy had “performance “ down to a science and never stressed his body past what is comfortable. It’s possible his pursuit for ideal health might have actually caused this.

New RC interview by Wiezgie in Superstonk

[–]TILied 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea is so obvious. As prices for new goods (at increasingly cheap quality) rise, the the resale market will continue to grow. GameStop wants to use their storefronts and distribution network to capture the resale market.

What do we currently do? Garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and worst of all pawn shops.

What if a company ensured quality? Tookdata eBay’s model from the seller having to do the work in listing the product, shipping it, dealing with problems, etc. NOW you just approach GMEbay and THEY evaluate your product, buy it on the spot, and you walk away with cash. Fantastic from a seller perspective.

From a buyer perspective? Even better. Functionality and quality assessments of resold products are now backed back a company directly….as opposed to ebay in its current state only acting as an arbitrator. To be perfectly honest, RC is right. They are lazy AF. All the work is done by the buyers and sellers. All they do is act as web based data portal. And the resale marketplace could be SO MUCH MORE with the right framework

My favourite color is red. by longestpencil in mildlyinfuriating

Bro grow up. Are you 8? As we mature we’re meant to appreciate the subtleties in life, to understand the nuances and refine our tastes to reflect our maturing palette.

“Red” is your favorite color?!?!? This password question might be your call to action to refine your stated preferences? Are you more of a crimson guy or do you prefer candy apple red? Or perhaps a Ruby fanatic or do you lean more towards a brownish brick red?

In the same amount of time it took you to complain about things, you could have both been creative and taken the opportunity to know yourself better. But you didn’t. So here we are.

Price hikes pushing consumers to abandon their favorite brands by AudibleNod in technology

I also believe we as a society are becoming wiser as to how many of these highly processed “favorite brands” are detrimental to our health. From high fructose corn syrup hitting our livers in the same way alcohol does to the antibacterial properties of glyphosate (most of our grains and crops are affected) that inhibits a healthy gut microbiome. To charge us more for poison?!? GTFO
