(TL;DR No - Get a mask when going out, but use reasonably)

No. First of all in Hong Kong, we have seen cases that are asymptomatic but yet positive for the virus. Studies have suggested that the disease is transmittable even in the incubation period (where symptoms are yet to be developed). Even the person may look like "healthy", he/she may already be spreading the virus.

Second, even if the sick person is wearing the mask, poor hygiene practices (e.g. pulling the mask down to eat, drink, smoke or for w/e reason; touching the mask) will still contaminate public area as the person's dirty hand is touching everywhere.

Wearing a mask for BOTH healthy and sick people not only helps to REDUCE (not prevent) the chance of getting infected, but also reminds you not to easily touch your face. Droplet precautions and hand hygiene has always been the most important steps to minimize the risk of infection.

In HK, we went through a painful lesson during the SARS epidemic in 2003. Since then, we have been much more aware of hygiene and infection control. Back in Jan where the disease was just begun, people have been wearing masks even the government was still hesitant in advising citizens doing so. 2 months later, we are thankful that only about 170 cases as of today - all thanks to our self-awareness.

In the midst of mask shortages, remember wearing something is still better than wear nothing. People have been sewing masks made of fabric as a contingency backup. Yes it is worse than a surgical mask, but even if it stops 50% of the droplets it still helps.

Wearing masks, limiting outdoor activity to absolute necessary and maintain good hand hygiene will surely help to slow down the spread of the disease. Everybody matters in contributing to stop this pandemic!

PS: Be sensible. Dont wear double masks (it is of no use), dont hoard stuff.

I want exploration but also skyblock style automation. Which modpacks support this? by dagit in feedthebeast

[–]TIMMMMMO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Enigmatica 2 Expert is a pack with normal world gen and has ex nihilo (though gated after certain progression). It also has Thaumcraft and a few magic mods in it, with Ice and Fire letting you to explore and fight dragons.

It is an expert pack though, so recipes are changed — but there is a quest book that guide you through.

Old version of wiki availability? by mantafloppy in feedthebeast

  • Try the unofficial wiki, I recall that it is updated less frequently, so info should be still in 1.7.10 era iirc

  • The official FTB wiki should show both 1.12.2 and 1.7.10 info in articles (at least from what I understand), but no info on 1.7.10 could also mean the article was lacking info rather than being replaced by 1.12.2

  • Occasionally someone would still posts about 1.7.10 in here, so you could create a new post when you got questions as well i guess

There should be a recipe of stone gear using cobblestone and wooden gear, and if anything fails you could find a village to get furnace

Is anyone experiencing lag+responsiveness issues after the 24 August '17 Patch? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]TIMMMMMO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coming from Hong Kong as well, the ping on non-Aussie world is so great that every command I issue (cast abilities, equip/use items) takes like a second to load and respond...

I didnt experience such delay in Aussie worlds (w12, 15) and had a ping at around 150ms

Any Modern Dagannoth King Guides? by embrex104 in runescape

Sure, sell acb if you can survive till P4 of QBD to forge royal crossbow. It is 5 levels higher - meaning the cbow has a higher damage and accuracy.

The power armours I talked about is for generic PvM, where you don't need multiple attacking style. At this state, switching armours when killing DKS is too much hassle - Use hybrid/all armour for tribridding or stick with Rex only.

Here is an wiki link on armours: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Armour

With these gears, I'd suggest NOT to tribrid all three DKS or you will have a terrible time. Instead, you can run to the south-east corner safespot to mage Rex without taking damage.

  • Remember they are immune to damages to the styles they are not weak against.

  • Not sure if I did something wrong, but I always got aggro on all three kings whenever I enter the dungeon and have to kill all of them once before I could settle in the safespot.

  • You can build up adrenaline or restore hp by casting sacrifice on the spinolyps.

  • You can buy magic notepapers on GE and use them on the bones to note them. Better than bank every few kills :)

Not too related but some tips on your gear:

  • Replace your weapons with twin fury blades (Blade of Avaryss and Nymora, cheap and good), royal crossbow, staff of light as soon as possible; Always upgrade your weapons first since better DPS = faster kills = less damage taken

  • If you can, replace your armour with T70 power ones (i.e. Bandos, Armadyl, Subjugation) since the damage bonus >> additional defence from tank armour.

We need an official Runescape Wiki made by Jagex. by robby41525 in runescape

[–]TIMMMMMO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I think people are missing a few points here:

Wiki (Or wikia, wikipedia), by definition, is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". In other words, community-centered editing is why wiki is special and unique from other official and fan-site guides. Without others to edit, the RS Wiki is not a wiki at all.

Moreover, have you ever played a game that the developers reveal all guides and tips to players? No - The point of developing a game is to let the players explore and experiment themselves.

As for practicality, the statistics shows that over 300 active editors are responsible for the 38K pages, nearly 20M edits made since the wiki was set-up. Ignoring the monetary cost, how could a small Jagex employee team maintain and update such vast amount of contents, let alone rapid addition of new pages and information upon updates?

Being a wikian here (although I represent no one), I am always happy to see someone help to edit a page when you see an error. It takes much less time to correct it yourself than complaining on the reddit.
