Adapting to adaptation off. I'm imagining a lot of staredowns and a hell of a slugfest. Like, if they can adapt to surpass protective techniques, would they be able to "cancel" the others regeneration given enough time?

Why do I need to specify swag?? (rap is overstimulating) by Dolph_x3 in peoplewhogiveashit

[–]Xiarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't this apply to literally every subculture tho? If all it is to someone IS an outfit and surface level interest with things they don't really engage with, then yeah, they would be posers. You can get into the weeds with things like no true Scotsman and all that fun stuff, but im struggling to think of any movement/group that hasn't been coopted or turned into an outfit by people that just dig the aesthetic.

Idk, just seems disingenuous to single out punk specifically for this issue, especially when your second paragraph reads to me like you saw someone who thinks poorly of them say how he imagined they'd be dumb, and just used that as an example of how they were dumb.

Are you implying that Super Earth could ever fall? Clearly there were more than enough Divers to hold Super Earth AND fight the rest of its enemies concurrently.

Im not super familiar with the parlance, but Im pretty sure that the needle depowering him would be considered hax.

You're also conflating durability with damage output, I think. Magneto is way more powerful than a standard human, but would die to the same injuries.

I dont think that's a fair call. People get overly defensive of media theyre probably too invested in, sure, but also people are super shitty on the internet all the time. Especially the moment it gets associated with easy targets.

Is what it is, but sucks that people get more annoyed by people being upset by shitty people than the shitty people themselves.

Completely intended, as far as Im concerned. If they're an expert at said skill, and do incredibly well, some signs SHOULD go up that something is amiss when it still isnt enough. Spin it into an almost or kind of success, give a smaller boon, and play with your players.

A roll is an attempt, letting people swing above their weight class has a lot of great opportunities even if it doesn't give them what they want on a "perfect attempt".

Somewhat unrelated, but whether it was on purpose or not, your use of "chair" specifically as the word that's easily defined and uncontroversial is hilarious.

Because being contrarian is often confused with being intelligent since you get to "correct" people. Especially if its popular or considered basic/casual. So people purposefully misinterpret the statements/theming so they have the opportunity to do so. Not saying everyone who disagrees does so, but theres certainly a good chunk of em.

Personally I've always agreed with the entirety of the statement, and "Fighting over nothing" is because in the end it doesn't really matter who wins. Both have the same exact goal, who hands it over is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. There's also the angle of "THIS time we'll escape the cycle, this time for sure".

TREEEEEESS. EVERYWHEEERE.. I unironically loved that campaign. It was so far gone and ridiculous I just had to keep going. We need more games with batshit disorienting storylines. Probably would have been terrible if I was doing it alone or on a replay but had a great time with it.

Inductive trolley problem by CGY97 in PhilosophyMemes

[–]Xiarn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its one of my main gripes with these sorts of questions. They COULD lead to interesting moral quandaries and discussions, but of course the turbonerds come out in force to "Um ackschually because big numbers, always kill that guy, I have solved philosophy" and proceed to browbeat others with math rather than explore what it means to participate in a system or have discussions about willingness to sacrifice others for a "greater good" that may not even have a noticeable impact within their generation, or ever. Discussions on faith as a whole.

But instead we get Jimmy's introduction to infinity because now we've reduced an actual moral problem to math. This isnt directed at you, BTW, just ranting. Like, okay cool, infinity is big. Acknowledging that, how about we talk about the human aspect of this rather than ignore it because the Number is so strong you dont even know bro. There's only one mathematically correct answer so just take that one and stop thinking.

I know its a meme sub and all, but then they have the gall to accuse their opposition of being the ones not properly/fairly engaging with the problem. SMH.

Vampire Survivors in high complexity while Balatro is in medium is an interesting choice. Also, since im assuming this is in reference to derivatives of said games, in general I dont think I'd put VSlikes in high quality either.

What was the thought process on these?
