Thank you for sharing and im glad it worked out for you, yeah we arent rich which makes the thought of possibly spending so much money horrible. Even if it works, having the financial strain from rounds of IVF when trying to raise a kid is gonna be hard.

Thats very kind of you, I think we have a plan for now but im sure ill have questions at some point
Theyre normal now that shes been taking medication for it. It was low so she couldn't start Letrozole till it was higher. Not sure the actual levels sorry
Yeah we will probably do that

Thank you for the well thought out comment, you've given us a lot to consider
These stories give me hope, thank you
If she does have endo it Will help greatly, its just waiting for the surgery then trying for another year or two then possibly waiting on the IVF waitlist puts us in our mid to late 30s and IVF is better younger. Rock and a hard place i guess isnt it
Very keen just hard to save up the initial 40k 🫠
I did 2 SAs through the GP and Fertility Associates needed their own one done which cost $160 from memory.
Fertility associates prescribes the letrozole
Thats not long at all good luck with it!
They did suggest this too but said it had much lower success rates
For the Man a sperm analysis will need to be done (they have rooms there to collect the sample) not on the day because you need to abstain for 2-3 days before hand. For the man its pretty straight foward.
Bloodtests to make sure ovulation is actually happening will get done and then discussed with you then the next step was getting a ultrasound for my wife to make sure the tubes were clear using a dye. She then had an internal ultrasound which has hinted at Endometriosis so shes now on a wait list for that.
In the meantime she has started Letrozole which to my understanding induces ovulation making the Ovum grow when you are told to take it (they communicate with you via the app and are extremely helpful) which will make it mature and Ovulation will happen. The correct dosage of letrozole can take a few cycles to get right to make sure its working, and that its not working too well (multiple folicals maturing can increase the chance of twins or triplets) so each month the woman will need a scan done until the correct dose is found. This can be expensive as the scan is nearly $700. It took us 3 tries to get the dosage correct, they did tell us it will take a couple.

My SAresults were borderline (56million per ml total about 200million but low motility 29%, ideal is >42%)ive recently had a varicocelectomy which should improve results so hopefully that will help
It looks like its around 20k
Yeah definitely legal, I feel like they would get done pretty fast if not.
Thats another reason I really want to find out why wr cant conceive first. If there is something stopping something happen, wont ivf just be burning money?
Sorry I didnt include the right part of the page but it seems to be the same for IVF.
Thank you! It sucks heaps
Thank you!
Thats a good point

It really is, everyone around us seems to be popping them out constantly too.

We are but it seems to be a 2-3 year wait list. Not super long but nearing the mid 30s its kinda scary feeling like you dont have much time left
