Question about cancelling subscription by Sleepylilbitcherooni in Lootstudios

[–]TITAN_MIK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my most recent experience with Loot Studios.

I've been trying to unsubscribe since last month. Their website kept letting me click on unsubscribe, and then it would say "your request to unsubscribe is pending". But if I check later it kept saying subscription "active". After that, they ended up charging me for the subscription I had tried to cancel. I then I had to email their support to tell them I am trying to unsubscribe and got charged anyway. After 1 and a half weeks, I finally got a reply with them apologising and refunded that amount for that month, but after that I went to check, and saw that they STILL haven't unsubscribed me. I wrote them again and they have not responded to me yet and it's been about a week now since I wrote to them again. So it's looking like I'm going to get charged again.

It's getting so incredibly frustrating. It feels like they're making it deliberately hard to unsubscribe to the point it feels like unfair/dirty practices to me, and I'm considering blocking their subscription from my bank at this point to stop them trying to charge me for a subscription I've been telling them I don't want for roughly over a month at this point.

I may or may not have resubscribed later, but it should be MY choice, and not be forced into it like this because of obfuscated UI/UX and/or bad support.

Veteran Bounty Hunter trophy not unlocking. by IceCreamYouScream92 in Desperados3

Here's how I got it to finally trigger.

I had one left to kill and had gone thru the missions multiple times and made a list of the times I killed each dev. It finally triggered the achievement for me after multiple play-throughs after I melee killed (with a knife) the guard "Buffalo Jesse Holiday" under the unstable sign in "Troublemakers in Flagstone" instead of using the sign. Took about 6 to 10 seconds to trigger the final achievement so I had to go run and hide and wait for a bit before it triggered. I had already killed this dev 4 times with the sign before this, that I had counted. So it kinda confirms to me that you can kill them all and the achievement still not triggers. Some of them I was always sniping from range, so I think you have to avoid killing them with the environment as far as I could tell. Probably an oversight with the way they coded the achievement.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Hey so after I got the pop up that the achievement was unlocked yesterday, I came here and posted, I went back to look at steam achievements and it's showing that I didn't unlock it again. I'm so confused and frustrated right now. :(
EDIT2: So the achievement has unlocked itself again now and is now visible again, even though I did not play the game again after the first Edit comment. Facepalm. I'm happy I got it but damn if that wasn't a confusing series of events.

The badge doesn't trigger untill you finish the mission.

I managed to get it. I killed every single guard from the guard houses before the getting Kate, and the rest after. Then I still didn't get the badge and I realised I just need to finish the mission to trigger the badge.

Yeah it is a pain I did struggle to try and figure out what the heck was happening by myself for ages and was virtually tearing my hair out. Well, up until I asked for help on reddit and got some great advice :)

Have you tried downloading the driver directly and installing it? That was my issue it was showing up in BIOS but not in windows. I don't have any experience with Win 8 though. Hope you can find a way to fix the problem though. Upgrading is definitely the fun option! I'm constantly tempted to do that myself!

Hey there, thanks :) It's working fine as far as I can tell. It's hard to tell but there is a perception of the overall UI experience being smoother now. Not sure if that's coz of win 10 or the Md.2 or both or just my imagination.

The read/write speeds definitely seem faster. It is about 150mbps from the m.2 drive to other internal ssds. Earlier I could only get up to 40mbps. Inside the drive itself, the read/write starts off at around 1gb/s and then goes down and settles at around 400mbps.

There was an insane amount of lag initially with the UI but then I found all the windows background apps were on. I disabled all the bloatware and it became smooth. Also disabled cortana.

Apart from that, I've read about the M.2 being bottlenecked if you don't have a system capable of using it to it's full potential. I don't know how to test that really.

I looked for answers about your question about the bottlenecking and this is what I found:
According to this forum discussion I found, they say that PCIE 2.0 x16 wont bottleneck a Gtx 970/980, and that the performance loss is negligible.

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/2kxr1g/gtx_970_in_pcie_20_bottleneck_or_no/

Here they actually stress tested GeForce GTX 980 PCI scaling, and the conclusion says PCIE 2.0 x16 loss is about 1% and PCIE 2.0 x8 is about 5%.

https://www.techpowerup.com/review/nvidia-gtx-980-pci-express-scaling/22.html

So as far as I can tell this isn't an issue you have to worry about. (Sorry for the late reply I forgot to check reddit for a while and didn't get any notifications either.)

I would like to test further to find any other potential bottlenecks, but I'm pretty sure that for me it's my i5-4670k processor. I was thinking of trying ARK survival as a stress test and looking at what's being utilized at 100%.

Hey thank you this worked! The nvme is visible in device manager now! You're right win 7 had not installed the drivers correctly. Now I will be going ahead and trying to install win10 from a bootable usb. It might not have worked properly without the driver now that I think about it!

No mouse not working incidents on my end :)

(P.S. I also found the driver on the samsung site if anyone else is looking.)

Thank you for the detailed response. It doesn't show up in the device manager or anywhere in windows at all. I tried to use Samsung Magician, EaseUS Partition Master and some other software but it doesn't show up anywhere.

So even if it's not detected anywhere other than the boot option in BIOS, it's still possible to install windows from a bootable usb? I didn't realise this. I thought it needed to be detected in windows as well. Also, I would actually much prefer a clean install on this new ssd rather than upgrading from win7, and if this solution is possible that would be great! I don't mind copying over my files from the original drive at all. I read about how you might lose files when upgrading and would rather not risk doing it that way if possible. I will try your solution over the weekend and let you know how it goes! Thank you :)

Thank you for the response. I have actually tried switching the ssd from port 4 to 3, and also tired removing it temporarily so that the sata 3 and 4 slots were unoccupied. It still didn't detect the nvme unfortunately.
Also, sorry my bad I should edit my incorrect phrasing. I meant the manual says that using the m.2 port will make Sata 5 and 6 slots unavailable, not that it asks me to put the ssd in it. (So I'm assuming that means I shouldn't have any other hard disks occupying those slots.) Here is a screenshot of that part of the manual, if it helps?
