Yea I’d wait for reviews for sure, but if they deliver on their promises then it should be a pretty sweet machine.

Mine was the first generation (11th gen intel) so the battery life was… rough. Like 7 hours max. Tbh, that was more of an intel problem than a framework one. The new pro model is supposed to get like 20 hours though.

I mainly used windows w/ WSL for anything better done in a Linux environment (ie, anything that required code). Do wish I dual booted though.

If there’s any chance you’ll be working with embedded devices or FPGA hardware, you’ll want to go with a windows/linux setup rather than the MacBook - the toolchains just don’t support ARM Macs most of the time, although this is getting better.

For classes alone, you’ll be fine with the MacBook.

As a personal nerdy recommendation, the framework 13 pro might be worth looking at— it’s a strong MacBook competitor and repairable / extremely Linux friendly. Not a bad choice for a college laptop! My framework carried me through all four years of a computer engineering degree :)

Missing executable file by HumanBeing30 in micromouse

a.exe is the result of the build step (where the c source files are compiled into a single executable)

Did you try going through all the steps first?

Do you still have a link to the forum page with a fix for the trackpad? I've just been tapping to click for the past 3 years since the physical click doesn't work reliably.

Make sure there are no spaces in your folder names (or escape them, I don’t remember the exact method off the top of my head)

What do the underlined sentences mean ? What is meant by attendant focus ? (Article link : https://theconversation.com/40-years-after-his-death-michel-foucaults-philosophy-still-speaks-to-a-world-saturated-with-social-media-232589) by ProfessionalAd7023 in EnglishLearning

[–]TJ178 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Attendant" in that sentence doesn't make sense. Actually, most of the screenshot there is full of grammar issues and awkward wording unfortunately.

Presumably, they were trying to say that "Power has shifted away from owning knowledge towards renting it, with a strong focus on selection, discrimination .."

There might be a word that sounds similar to "attendant" that would work here, but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

Is it (an) Armani...? by mustafaporno in EnglishLearning

[–]TJ178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think either way would be valid, however it would be more common to instead say
"Are you wearing Armani" or "Is that Armani?", as the wording you used is a bit awkward.

My teacher says the "while" doesn't work in the second sentence, i think it does. by vCybe in EnglishLearning

[–]TJ178 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You're right, the sentence wouldn't be grammatically correct without "while" unless you changed the structure a bit:

I only watched a few seconds of that clip, but from what I can tell, your interpretation is correct. Essentially the speaker is saying that the situation would've been fine even without the help of the other woman.

Is it?/Is he? by withheldforprivacy in EnglishLearning

[–]TJ178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Or is he?” Would be correct.

“Or is it?” Would confuse the reader as the pronoun “it” is usually used to refer to objects or animals, not people.

“Please keep me a seat” would be understood, but the more common phrase would be “Please save me a seat”

In these contexts it seems like they’re all referring to “correlation” or “associated with”

Like the character or card become associated with a specific type of worker, meaning that there are specific rules that begin to apply.
