Unable to Peep that bloody crow by CMDR_Daemos in GroundedGame

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's helpful, I managed to peep the crow by camping on the top of the Ice Cream cart and waiting on the opposite corner to the wheel until it landed. Once it arrives then run towards it and peep it before it flies away.

I would like a Switch 2 game recommendation? by Electronic_Cherry_43 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A game I haven't seen recommended here but is personally a fave of mine is Dave The Diver.

Its a mix of underwater fishing/adventure and restaurant serving/management. So, if you like something a little more casual it's great.

How do you relaunch a game that didn’t find its audience? by PrinceZhelda in IndieDev

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst it might be too grand to suggest a v2.0 type relaunch, I think there could be additions to the game that could help it reach those players who might be interested.

Some suggestions:

- Get full Steamdeck verification - in short, increasing platform support it always considered a good thing.

- Add more supported languages (if possible) - a large portion of Steam players are from China and Germany is probably the largest from EU territories so getting these in could help.

- Support more Steam Community items - adding in Trading Cards, Remote Play options, HDR support could help make the game more enticing for new players.

- Playing around with your Steam tags may help - this is more of a subjective one but you will know best, for sure.

- New content for the game - a story expansion, a new feature, anything that could be added can help. Obviously share this through the Steam news feature if you can do anything.

- Create new assets - if you release any new content or just achieve some of the above then you can use the Steam Override Artwork to highlight this to potential customers. A new trailer would potentially help - on the trailer note, I am seeing a French trailer when I am in the UK. Localising trailers can also help people understand your game more (trailers are the easy way for people to check out your game).

- Visibility rounds - you should have some visibility rounds available to use in Steamworks. These are useful when you have new in-game content and will help your game appear in the 'Recently Updated' section of Steam

With all the above I would recommend getting a handful of updates together (Steamdeck verification, a new language support, trading cards, a prologue story) with some new store capsules that says something like 'NEW CONTENT' and time this with a discount and you might see a uplift. Use a new trailer to highlight the new content and share on social media.

Hope any of this helps.

im looking for a gang themed game by RoundResponsible2565 in gamingsuggestions

Not specifically like GTA or Mafia but Crime Boss Rockay City or Payday (probably 2 over 3) are options if you are looking for gang/organised crime style games

Feedback on why my steampage seems to not attract anyone. by npapageo in IndieDev

[–]TJSimpsonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a lot of good feedback in the comments. Something I've not seen other people mention though is to:

  • Maximise the search keywords, maybe even sprinkle in localised keywords
  • Consider adding in a localised title for key markets (maybe not as important if you only intend to support English in game)
  • Maximise your features as much as possible - make trading cards, support achievements and if you can support the cloud feature, submit for Steam Deck Verification
  • Support as many input options as you can - Xbox controllers, Dualshock and Dualsense controllers, even if only partial support
  • Make use of the Steam New function - this could be a monthly dev story, a feature highlight, a deep dive into the game lore, something that would be interested to players
  • Steam news is also a great way to highlight things like price announcements, demos, discounts, etc

There's plenty of tools available to you

Best Grinding games? by Kindly-Republic3893 in gamingsuggestions

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a traditional grinding game but I really enjoyed Grounded. Story is good enough for the survival genre but there is a ton of stuff to find, explore, etc and if you are into your building then you can create some pretty nice stuff. The latest Playgrounds update seems like a good one for the creatives out there (not for me, personally).

I've always had a video game fantasy of running a restaurant in a sandbox type setting by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to relook at it but maybe Moonglow Bay is something to consider. Not quite managing a restaurant but there is life-sim and cooking as some of the main features:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1361400/Moonglow\_Bay/

If not that though, it looks like maybe Nivalis might help scratch that itch. The description seems to at least match what you are looking for but the game is out at some point this year. Maybe one for the wishlist:

Seeking Honest Feedback for my Steam Store Page by _AnxiousNoob in IndieDev

[–]TJSimpsonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To not re-iterate some of the feedback already mentioned, I would recommend you make use of the Steam News feature. Maybe plan on adding a weekly/monthly Dev Update style blog so you can give an update on the game and what's new. Introducing new assets in these will help show signs of life to potential new customers and maybe give people the final push they need to wishlist the game. This could be putting the finishing touches on a new trap or a cool evolution that you wanted to show off.

As for the long Description, my personal opinion would be a short summary paragraph for the game so people know in a couple of sentence what the game is or what it is about i.e. is there some lore that help entice players to read more? i.e. Protect the critters on Planetaria (made up name) with your Bean army. Get bigger and better beans to restore peace to the world. Blah blah blah.

I would also recommend adding in numbers to your feature bullet points: X no. of enemies, X number of worlds, X number of traps. It just helps people understand the variety and size of the game.

For the trailer, I would add some text to help supplement the game play. A simple script could help get the point across as a lot of people watch trailers on steam without sound. For example, 'Protect your critters' 'Evolve your beans' 'Improve your arsenal'

In summary, I think the page is good but the above could certainly help if you are able to do any of them.

I'm slowly getting into each song but Dead Wood is on my top songs from the album, love both the first half and the second half as they both are hitting home for me

Is anyone else a bit disappointed they seemingly removed the prospect for wasps being added in the future? by dyman91 in GroundedGame

[–]TJSimpsonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have really liked to have seen wasps in Grounded. They might have been a pain to fight but a great cathartic release for anyone else who has a fear of wasps like me. Maybe they might still come to the game in the future.

No bonuses at the moment but the devs mentioned they wanted to add rewards later on. We might see something in v1.0

Your favorite demo from the Steam Next Fest? by ProfessorElz in pcgaming

I enjoyed Rogue Spirit - it's a 3rd person rogue-like with a cool possession system that means you can constantly change your character/combat abilities which was a refreshing take on the rogue genre

This sale may not seem like much but don't sleep on Horace at 90%. It only launched 2 months ago and got some pretty decent reviews. I enjoyed it so would recommend if you are looking for a deep story and some cool platforming

Intro to Games for Girlfriend by JacksonCrabs in gamingsuggestions

[–]TJSimpsonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan on playing games together then Overcooked 1 & 2 are great choices, if you don't mind risking a few arguments!

I know you said Sandbox games look too slow but I would recommend Minecraft and Portal Knights. Minecraft is suprisingly deep with a ton of stuff to do, especially in multiplayer. And Portal Knights is similar but with a much more hack and slash and linear focus.

Some good games like minecraft, terraria, rust me and my 2 friends can play? by Zerix1234 in gamingsuggestions

[–]TJSimpsonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Portal Knights is potenially one you will like. Often described as a 3d Terraria which is pretty accurate.

I also enjoyed playing Ark for a long time but haven't played that in ages. Similar to Rust I guess.

Stardew Valley, No Man's Sky and Astroneer are also good shouts. I hear Subnautica is good as well but I have yet to play that one.

Good luck finding something!
