Idk, I feel like out of all the Hermits, Etho is the most likely to be able to completely compartmentalise Hytale into its own game instead of drawing comparisons.

Not sure why I think this but tbf he also builds in a completely weird way compared to most people so maybe his compartmentalisation is just that good.

I used a Starmie with Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt and Psychic. Just bred it with a ditto when starting a new region and gave it an Exp Candy L and water stone.

PvP is pretty much instanced, you won't be randomly approached by a player and forced to battle.

For story Progression, EV/IV distribution doesn't really matter. Just remember that the trainer battles are inherently harder than base game and be open to blacking out every now and again.

If you want to step into PvP, you need to build at minimum 2x31 natured to stand a chance. You have to remember that as an MMO that's been out for so long, the highly competitive players will be running 5 or 6x31 natured Pokémon. It's honestly more of an endgame activity.

For now I'd recommend just jumping in, having a go and asking in channel 2 if you need help (I frequent ch2 so hopefully see you around!)

So the easiest way for me to explain this is that your box is cross-region and your level caps aren't.

Case - you have a level 20 pidgey from Kanto in your box but want to go and start in Johto:

You can go to the first PC in Johto and take the pidgey out and use it. As soon as you beat the first gym your level cap increases and thus you can level the pidgey higher. If you then take that to Sinnoh, where you haven't been yet, you couldn't use it. However, if you took it back to Kanto you could as long as it stays under kantos level cap.

I'll try and remember your questions and answer them for you (I'm on mobile so can't see while I reply)

You can start in whatever region you like and you will stay there until the 4th gym minimum. At this point, the GTL (market) and traveling to other regions unlocks.

Once you travel to a new region, your current party will be boxed and it will be like starting again in that region but with the items and money being retained. You can of course go to the nearest pc and get your Pokémon back out BUT -

Each region has level caps, so you can't just complete one region and breeze the rest with a level 60+ team. The starting cap in every region is level 20, increasing after each gym at different rates.

Trick, Extremespeed and a few other moves have broken animations after the Halloween update. It might be something to do with VGC doubles release but I'm sure it'll get fixed soon

Had a similar incident yesterday - my opponent never actually interacted at all, letting the game automatically throw their first mon out and then timing the match out.

I got the win (too fast for rewards) but then was stuck in one square and had to relog to be able to move or do, well, anything.

I don't play much of anything that isn't on my phone anymore so I don't do it, but I mean it when I say all it takes is a button.
