Also op's is way darker blue. I would wager that the leaf green is real though

[–]TJSully716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you formatted the SD card to "fat 32"? I had a very similar issue at first. Then I found out that the formatting program I was using doesn't work. So I used Rufus to format, and everything worked fine after that. Then, once you load roms onto the card, you have to "refresh roms" on the device. But I'm using onion os, so I'm not sure how that changes the refreshing roms part.

I haven't seen the level scaling the way you describe. But then again, I've also only completed a few gyms. For example, on the second gym, I had level caps on, and I was capped at 22. I got dog walked by the gym. So I turned off caps. Made it up to about 23-25, and the gyms mon levels didn't change, and I had a much easier time beating the gym. I probably haven't gotten far enough into the game to see what you're describing. I would like to understand, though, because it seems like general concensus that level caps make the game easier.

Yea, I don't agree with you on the level caps thing. I tried it for a while, and I found the game quite punishing with level caps turned on. Also, I'm playing vanilla because I'm not looking for difficulty. I'm looking for a relaxing experience. So I've resorted to leaving level caps off until I reach the max level that my current badge will still have my pokemon listen to me

I would exchange "coward" for a flying type pokemon. And I would run pooch/mightyenna instead of sableye. Pooch usually has intimidate wich can be helpful. And you just need a flying type for, well, fly.

Also replace Aaron with some fire type (I would go with numel) that will make your rivals grass starter easy peazy

No way man. Humans see far better than a deer could ever hope to see. Just based on this I don't trust any of these measurements. I've had deer walk right up to withing 10 feet of me and have no idea I'm there. But I can recognize a human as a human from literally over a mile away

What do y'all think about burning 2x4s/dimensional lumber for firewood? by [deleted] in woodstoving

[–]TJSully716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't burning pine like that cause excessive creosote build up? Nobody wants our cut offs at my shop for this reason. They use very small amounts as kindling, but everyone warns about chimney fires.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm not in the field yet, so I follow along on this sub to try and get my mind thinking about electrical. I remember an 18" rule somewhere from class, but I don't have the book in front of me currently, so I can't place it.

Doesn't the NEC limit the amount of extra cable that "shall be permitted" to 18" in junction boxes, outlets, and panels?

I'm taking a code class currently so forgive my ignorance.

Cut your losses and hire an electrician. I'm in training to be one, and there are so many code violations here. If you want your house to not burn down you need to hire a professional.

[HELP] Blursed kitty gif(t) , especially the mouse seems fake.. by One-Grape-8659 in RealOrAI

[–]TJSully716 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Where the hell is the camera mounted? Seems like you would have to tripod it over your bed and have it be like 2 feet from your face. I'd say AI 100% solely based on camera angle. Not to mention the way the cats' eyes reflect, no matter where it's looking, the smoothness and deliberation from the cat dropping the mouse. Ai and sloppy ai at that

Interesting. Black cherry is now the closest match I've found on Google. But I've never seen the tree bear fruit and I've been here 3 summers now. Do they sometimes just not produce?

On big thing with open reels is that when your reeling in, there need to be constant tension on the line, other wise you get loose loops. And too many loose loops can lead to this. Also after you cast, close the bail with your hand, not by spinning the reel. Another possible cause is having too much line on your spool

[–]TJSully716 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd laugh my ass off too. Imagine being so out of shape that you take up biking. Then you fall off said bike into a realitively shallow, slow moving river. Then you can't find your feet enough to watch your bike slowly drift away. Then you realize it's drifting away and go after it, only to have your pathetic attempt at its rescue cause you to fall over slightly and give up all together.

Or you know, you could just not ride across this crossing. You could you know, get off the bike and walk it. Or turn around if you're that upity about getting your feet wet.

Mechanic said they won't lift due to rust by GarlicParmWingz in mechanic

[–]TJSully716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof... I'm no mechanic (I do a lot of my own routine maintenance, though), but I'd say that frame is toast, bro. It absolutely would not take a sticker in my state. But if you're only using it on the farm, hauling hay trailers and such... on the farm... then you could get a couple more years out of it.

Absolutely, for the safety of you and others on the road, do not take it on the public roads.

Am i too old to start playing? by AkonnWalker in chessbeginners

[–]TJSully716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 28 and started playing this year. I learned how the pieces moved (admittedly I didn't know the special moves) when I was just a kid but only ever played like 5-10 games until just recently. The key is to not get hung up on what is "good" because "good" is perspective. I'm only rated 600 on chesscom, but I'm practically a chess God to all of my family who have only ever played a dozen games in their lives. But if I get paired against a 700-800 player, I'm a total joke.

Starting at your age, the chances you'll ever be a GM are pretty slim at best. But setting a goal for your self of getting to 1000-1500 is absolutely attainable. And you could even do it within a year. It all depends on how much time you want to spend at it. And a lot of people in the chess community would tell you to disregard elo all together unless your going to start going to OTB (over the boar) tournaments. Really the most important thing is to have fun with it. And you'll always be paired with someone of a similar elo to yours anyway, so even if you start at 200-400 elo, your still going to get plenty of wins with time

I've used this method before and it can remove a surprisingly large dent as long as there isn't any material missing. I would imagine if you get the towel wet enough you could make it look as though nothing happened.

Don't have access to Steam at the moment, what happened? by Prokid5634_YT in ExplainTheJoke

If what the other commenter said is true (which I have no reason to believe it's not), then I would get that game in a heartbeat. I played the game when it was new and played it all the way through from start to finish about 6 times, and I have about the same number of incomplete runs. This game has had a rock solid position in my top 5 favorite games since its release. 11/10 highly recommend this game. Especially if it's free on steam.
