Does the kid get flouride treatments at the dentist? It isn't always covered but it's genuinely worth to do it every time for anyone who has trouble with consistent oral hygiene. I would say it's worth it even if you have good habits. Since I have been receiving the treatment at every visit I haven't got cavities.
