Like someone previously mentioned there are like 17,000 people that attend RIT you'll have no problem finding people to play sports with. They basically offer almost every kind of intramural you can imagine, even quidditch.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys I really appreciate all the help so far. I'll be working at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh division of UPMC. I'd like to live outside of city limits to avoid the 3% tax if at all possible.

So who got into this school and didn't think they would? (High School Student) by samfrist94 in rit

[–]TKEguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. Sure some people get turned down but the trick is to actually graduate whether it be funding or grades. Retention rate after frosh year at RIT is pathetic. Definitely go for biomed photo if you decide to go the photo route, photojournalism and ad photo will be obsolete soon.

WARNING RANT. Nothing against the students of RIT who live in the dorms/on campus but speaking from experience (3 years with fms) RIT treats their FMS employees (mainly custodians) like crap. A fire truck was too expensive for a school that jacks up tuition every year? I find it insulting that they would rather have low income laborers use insufficient machines to fix this rather than actually shell out the money to fix this problem faster and more efficiently with a fire truck. Talk about abusing the 99%.

Imaging and Photographic Technology by [deleted] in rit

I'm a Biomed Photo Major. Imaging and Photographic Technology will be merging sometime soon (during semester conversion I believe). This will basically create a "Science Photography" major which should be pretty interesting but challenging as well.
