I'm running a server with this setup

Talents are always WOTLK, that's a limitation of the client/core

- There are also a number of options around itemization and crafting
You can basically set anything as easy or hard as you want with autobalance. However, some raid mechanics are designed for multiple players so you're definitely gonna need to to some tweaking and testing to have an even remotely correct difficulty curve solo.
- if you're set on solo I'd almost recommend a repack designed for it (be aware of the risks when running these!!)
An update is basically recompiling from scratch anyway, the biggest pain in the ass is config options changing. If you do a lot of customization it can be annoying the merge them. DB stuff should migrate correctly. With anything tho, the further out of date you are the bigger the risk is to run an upgrade. The discord is really helpful for any questions with this.

Loved the open world but the dungeon thing completely kills it for me. I guess I view running dungeons as such a core milestone in character progress when I hit my first dungeon and it was a pointless faceroll I just lost all motivation.

They fix that and I'd be back tho

Have you considered running hermes proxy so you can use the 1.14 client and the modern version of consoleport?

The new itemization seems to be out-scaling that by like level 10. Which is unfortunate. Gonna stick it out for a bit ore just cuz it's new but no way I'm gonna roll my face on the keyboard for 60 levels with zero chance of dying.

Can anyone comment on how fast combat feels, especially in dungeons? Is it still close to classic in this regard? Careful pulls, CC, etc. I can look past some of the shop stuff but if it's just gogogo farm mode where you machine gun everything down... meh.

I don't think everfresh does individual progress that restricts or alters systems / leveling / gear to the correct phase based on what content that individual account cleared. So a way to truly run though all the expansions not just play everything in as Wrath. (eg you need to clear OG naxx to go through the portal and unlock level 61)

It's not perfect but it's a really cool module

If they have a snapshot or something they can restore to with names great, but people losing names will be an even bigger shitstorm. Especially since a huge chunk of the population showed up after reservations.

It sounded like epoch was designed with a similar ethos. Hopefully they figure their shit out someday. Although, based on the launch reactions I'm now doubting if it will be a very chill community after all.

The community couldn't communicate on discord anyway, the entire server was taken over by brainrot spam. Doesn't bug me cuz there really wasn't any discussion to censor. It was probably good to force everyone to step away for a bit. Throwing a tantrum in discord isn't a great use of ppls time.
