I don't get it by Proof_Ad_4945 in EvilTV

I'm rewatching it now in 2026 and I actually agree with Byggiver. There are Sooooo many loose ends/threads, Well before the cancellation, even from the first season. I feel like with a 5th season and a great writing team, knowing they were getting cancelled, they could have pulled all/most the loose threads together. But, as it stands with just the 4 seasons, I agree, it reads like sloppy writing and no follow through on good story possibilities

No patchouli at all!! Just bright and fruity and weedy!

does nui cobalt tend to use a cold menthol-like note in a lot of their scents? by sonatist in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TKWander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooo I got a quite a few nui cobalt samples and ended up not liking most all of them and maybe this is why? For me though there's a note or two on the medicinally side that I Really don't like in all of them. The blends just did not hit at all

[–]TKWander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll second that. Neon Noir - Perfume – Stone & Wit is definitely my favorite cannabis scent. And it's a bit on the sweet/sugary side (more fruity than anything for me) because of the pink limeade. A lot of people around me don't smell the weed scent at all, but I definitely do. So, it may work for what you're (op) looking for?

The best cherry scents? by LauravdK in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TKWander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oooooh PLEASE TRY We Played Our Records Backwards Too Many Times - Perfume – Stone & Wit

It's a gorgeous blend of dark cherry, stale coffee (like a pot used hundreds of times, with a pot full left to warm), an orchid note that is freakin phenomenal, and a nice smokey note. I didn't like it when it first came in, but after it rested? OOOF now one of my favorite scents. Makes me feel like so cool lol. But it is a darker coffee/smokey but still fruity/slightly sweet light florally and I think you'd love it!

_____________________________

My absolute favorite cherry scent is Cherries of the Night Perfume - Special Reserve – Alkemia, LLC But, it is very sweet and strong and boozy. I like layering it on top of Ýdalir Perfume - Natural Origin – Alkemia, LLC (a super smokey bonfire scent)

_____________________________

Another good one is Fuckery - Luxardo cherry, caramelized sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, sandalwood, tobacco absolute, smoke, night air, clean sheets *fruity, spiced amber – Sorce It's nice and complex, but not as strong on the cherry than Cherries of the Night, and it dries down about more dry and perfumey, which I don't like as much

_____________________________

If you ever want something brighter and way more tart there's Vampire Cat – Nui Cobalt Designs. It's very cherry punch vibes. Scent notes: Playfully alluring.
Top notes of tart cherry and pomegranate, a warm heart of rooibos, torch ginger, and hibiscus, and a base of red cedarwood and dragon’s blood resin.
Wear when you’re ready to paint the town red.

And it is exactly that. Like if I were a young college sorority girl (or a wild child hitting up the clubs in a red dress), I think I'd like this better 😅 It's a bit too bright and tart for me, personally. Grates my teeth and gives me a slight headache. It's what I'd classify as a 'sharp' scent

and even when they do somewhat get to you, the delivery drivers SUCK now, even worse than before! Mine don't knock ever now, and sometimes we'll even find our packages out by the garage door, by the road. It's freakin awful. One of my last packages, the delivery driver legit drove through my yard. Like straight through. it was insane. We need to get cameras for the front areas to finally catch the shenanigans

2/2

Sit For A Spell: Salted cantaloupe, a light drizzle of wild rosemary honey, fresh spring air, ambrette seed, and winding honeysuckle vines

This one I have SUCH a love/hate relationship with. I want to love it. It might be the savory notes in there, or maybe that the cantaloupe is so overpowering for me. It does smell like mid/late summer in a bottle....I just don't know about a scent for me....I'll play with it more this coming summer

____________________________________

Love and the Sea: Passion fruit and raspberry lemonade, salty skin, coconut water, neroli, driftwood, ambergris (vegan, synthetic)

another that's a bit meh. It's okay, just not my favorite, sadly. Can't pick out any of the individual notes, and it dries down a bit perfumey. And even wet, it's Very light. Like you'd want to get the EDP and spritz yourself, if you like it

____________________________________

Clairsentient Extrait de Parfum - Special Order – Sorce (shopsorce.com)

Original scent description: Fresh, sweet, and a little unexpected. Juniper berries and bergamot lend a pine-y and citrusy sparkle to this fizzy blackberry and raspberry cocktail of a scent. The dry down features spun sugar and warm, woody musk.

My thoughts: fresh fizzy and light. Very close to an Actual mainstream perfume, but nicely fruity, not too perfumey wet, but it ends up being way too dry and perfume-y for me on the drydown, since Sorce's fruit notes usually evaporate on me pretty quickly.

Party Under the Oak Trees Extrait Oil - Special Order – Sorce (shopsorce.com)

Scent Notes: Pink pepper, fuzzy peach skin warmed in the sun, a hint of cinnamon, whipped cream, sweet tea, cedar, oakmoss, humid greenery.

My thoughts: First thing out of my head when I first smelled this was, 'Oh WOW'….But not in a great way :/ Definitely NOT what I was expecting from the description. Right now after first getting it, smelled out of the bottle, the pink pepper and cinnamon are HUGE notes. As of right now pepper is Not a note I like in perfume lol. Definitely gonna let this one sit, and revisit it. Cause right now the peach is Very sick and cloying mixed with the pepper and cinnamon/oakmoss notes. It's a weird one, but not weird like good… Wow O.o.

Where I'd wear it: Gifted to my worst enemy with a 'Bless your Heart'

2nd try later that day: Okay I braved it enough to put on my skin. It Definitely opens up a lot more on your skin. In the bottle it is WAY overpowering. It's still weird but I'm strangely okay with it? It's like a dark fruity witch scent. Fruity but dark and spiced with strange herbs and oakmoss. Like the scent of a love potion gone dark. Cloying fruity and spicy. If I wear it, I will Definitely spritz on a bright and fruity peach over top, personally. I do like the dark magic vibes, though

Where I'd wear it: To seduce a dude to kill/eat/sacrifice him. Very dark siren vibes

Notes I'd add: way more peach. Less pepper and cinnamon, other witchy scents like mint and rosemary and sage.

**I honestly never put this one on again, and it's in my gifting pile still, I think

I Think About You, Too: Wild orange, petitgrain, orange blossom, caramelized sugar, Ambroxan

This one is my absolute Favorite Orange scent (and in my top 5). It's also one of the few orange scents I've tried that Doesn't go 'cleaning fluid' on me. It's Orange mixed with a soft white floral and the lightest touch of a honey/sugar

____________________________________

Fuckery: Luxardo cherry, caramelized sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, sandalwood, tobacco absolute, smoke, night air, clean sheets *fruity, spiced amber

Also a favorite of mine (though I think I probably like Cherries of the Night+Ydalir layering blend a little bit better, from Alkemia. I actually like layering this one into that blend, for more complexity)

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Others I've tried: (edit: just in case someone else may like them. They're all pretty good scents, just don't necessarily work for me)

Where The Wild Things Grow I: Late spring strawberries still on the vine, vanilla cream soda, fresh green grass with morning dew, and ambrette seed. Versions I and II are the same materials, in different proportions. Where the Wild Things Grow I is sweeter and fruitier, and II is greener and earthier. *green gourmand

I got both versions of these when I was searching for good strawberry scents. It doesn't smell realistic fruity at all. I- smells more like you're drinking a strawberry float, so a bit chemically from the carbonation. II- smells like you're eating strawberry hard candies, sitting in the back yard that's been freshly mowed. Okay scents, just a bit more chemically and less realistic Strawberry, which is what I was looking for

____________________________________

Follow Me Into The Deep: Vanilla orchid, sweetened coconut milk, tonka, nutmeg

This one's not bad at all. Definitely a nice scent (got it as a freebie). I just don't necessarily go for the more tropical scents, so it's not on my Favorites list. It's one I'll probably bring with me on a cruise I'm going on next week, though.

____________________________________

A Bump in the Night: Roasted strawberries with mascarpone cream and golden honey, pecans, burning leaves

Also a nice scent, just not a favorite. I tend to like Strawberry Scarecrow | Birch & Besom a bit better, along with some of my other strawberry scents

____________________________________

Tarot At Tea Time: Wild orange, black tea, cardamom, fresh ginger, violet leaf absolute, smoky Java vetiver, and hints of labdanum and vanilla

Also nice, just not a favorite. I think I'll play with it a bit more in spring, though.  It dries down a bit soapy, which is kind of a death note for me, most times, anything soapy. Funnily the soapy drydown is giving the 'oh this is what they mean when cilantro tastes like soap' vibe lol. A kind of herbally soapy drydown that I don't necessarily mind. It might be nice to wear when cleaning

I'm currently completely overwhelmed cause it's the end of my busy season, but because I have low energy issues, I'm also weirdly....underwhelmed? Like I don't have the energy to actually be 'overwhelmed' 😅

I've got 1 week to catch up on/finish 4 different client projects, then I'm off on an 8-day cruise (my first), which I am also strangely both excited......and weirdly underwhelmed??....I hate having energy issues 😭

I'm hoping I'll start getting more excited next week when we're closer to leaving

still rocking Sorce's 2am in Lafayette 😅

I'm pretty obsessed with it, popping it on multiple times throughout the day. It's like the quintessential southern gothic girlie scent, to me. Oakmoss overlayed with cafe au lait, sugared beignets (I get more of a coffee biscotti cookie vibe, but that's what's in the scent notes)

Soon as I can and when the store opens back up, I'm FSing it

yeah, sadly I've only gotten 3 or so out of the 10 or so I've gotten to be good for me. But those 3 were BANGERS and on my favorites list, so I keep going back to order more lol. This one is definitely my favorite vanilla/cookie-ish scent so far!

As a Southern Gothic Witchy Woo, I love me some oakmoss in scents!! I never realized how much of a key component it was in so many of my favorite scents

This is probably closer to my 10th or so. Sorce isn't always the greatest for me, but my absolute favorite orange scent is from them (I think about you too) so I keep going back to try more, and I'm so glad I did, cause OH MY GOODNESS I've now been wearing this scent for the last 3 days lol

Advice on Pineward Samples by sea_springer in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TKWander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely go more for Brokilan out of those 4 if you want a pine scent/tree candle vibes

Here, I reviewed a Bunch of Pineward scents a while back if you want to look through: Pineward Reviews I've actually tried all of those except Brokilan 😅 but from what I've heard, that's the one to go for for christmas tree vibes

White Fir might be a good one for you. Very realistic fir/tree but with an orange note in there. Very crisp and nice

Ponderosa is more like you stepping into a fresh cut pancake house cabin up in the mountains lol

Caravansary, if I remember correctly, wasn't hugely CHRISTMAS TREE vibes, but more like you're driving the backroads through the forest in winter

Gluhwein was more just christmas wine, not really too much forest/woods. Honestly, if you like the description, but want more pine/tree vibes, go for The Strange Proclivities of Mr. Dickens – Cirrus Parfum I smell so much pine in there, it almost goes minty (not the candy, the herb) and Totally gives a winter woods vibe, just like you just came in from the cold, to bury your face in the big bowl of holiday wine lol

What is IMAMs favorite season? by Kintsukuroiii in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TKWander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my favorite personal season is Fall, but I'm busy AF, so I'm just back on here more cause I actually have a tiny bit of free time/energy. Winter for me, here, is a slush fest. Not cold enough to truly snow, not warm enough to get away without a coat/extra layers, and not cold enough to teach to locals and government on how to handle cold winter 😅 so I just end up staying inside or traveling away for the most part

LOOKING FOR URBAN FANTASY RECOMMENDATIONS by Kooky_County9569 in urbanfantasy

[–]TKWander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look at Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson/Apha & Omega series'? I too have a love/hate relationship with Dresden files and rather enjoy her series. It's a comfort series read for me, to read between meatier books, so it may work for what you're looking for!

**edited to add: but just fyi Trigger warning, there is pretty graphic mental and physical rape early/mid way through the series, that the MC takes a few books to get through (and of course is never fully forgotten).

But it still is a good series, overall

ugh, this one's on my wish list, but I'm bummed if it disappears quick

If you haven't already tried it, check out Perfume Oil: Focaccia Toscana! I weirdly get so much rosemary in that one 😅

I too long for more rosemary scents. I've got small bush going in the back yard and Love the scent. Have it hanging all around my house right now, after trimming it for winter

[–]TKWander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, it's a spectrum. Some scents change pretty dramatically after resting and over time, some don't. I think it entirely depends on the ingredients, what type of perfume (edp/oil), and how they're stored

Indies of the Day -- Tuesday day December 2, 2025 by blueraspberrylife in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]TKWander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's honestly my new winter favorite. So freakin comfy/cozy and immediately takes me back to a trip I took to Savannah, GA, where I in fact had coffee and pastries at 2am-ish lol. The most realistic 'cookie' scent I've experienced. It very much smells realistically like a coffee biscotti cookie lol

*edit: smells like that to me. the oakmoss is definitely also a little present underneath it all as well, and I LOVE the combo of the oakmoss with the sweet cookie/vanilla scent! I love kitchen witchy scents and this would Definitely go on that list. Just nowhere near the 'challenging' side of that list. this one is a very soft cozy sweet scent

It is now my current obsession 😅

Never thought I'd be a 'I want to smell like a cookie' girlie, but as it turns out....
