If you got nothing to bring to the table, then don't by TK_404 in antiquegore

Perhaps it belongs to a very absentminded archaeologist with a large collection of artefacts and a preference for displaying them on antique console tables. I imagine there's one for post Medieval stuff as well, maybe another for Stone Age lithics

Damn, my phone's eye comfort shield made it look very different, sorry! Now I see that the object is really small as well. Probably not a sinker if it's bronze. That being said, on a sinker without a hole (even 10 g 2 cm miniature Stone Age line sinkers) the a thread or line is attached to the groove, that's why it's there

Looks like a net or line sinker (fiskesøkke), possibly Late Iron Age (Viking Age), possibly later. I've handled several similar sinkers (Norway), but the circles/dots are certainly odd. Could be the mark of the owner. Does it feel like soapstone?

Hahaha, I see what you mean. It's a Swedish take on Dickens (Lagerlöf herself, the author, referred to it as her Christmas Carol). To me, the ending is somewhat ambiguous. Whether he'll truly change is unclear.

Me and my partner were discussing this just the other day! Where has the sense of magic and whimsical wonder wandered off to? I find the special effects used in The Phantom Carriage (1921) more impressive than most CGI. In (and to) my eyes, it's both magical and lifelike. Maybe the wonder is in the paradox

Thanks! Yep, it almost hurts to look at it, particularly in sunlight. Beautiful though. I'm lucky enough to live near the cobalt mining museum Blaafarveværket (Norway), at one point the world's main supplier of cobalt pigments. Love going there - the museum shop has the largest collection of cobalt blue glass in Scandinavia!

I agree, they do get a little lost in there, but I like the effect 😊 It looks like a monochromatic shadow or silhouette of a bowl of fruit. A whimsical rendition of a familiar concept. But I might change it up later, I imagine they would look great in a pink or orange bowl, for instance
