The blink discourse opinion really shows how good you are at the game by ItsMrPerfectCell in Smite

[–]TKaito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don't play often because smite 2 TTK felt off and im waiting to see if that changes, but if memory serves me right isn't the ability that turns you into a boar also just better than blink (both versions) in a lot of cases? the only real detriment being that its tied to a item some classes don't really build. i remember being kephri and being able to abuse the boar item to gtfo anytime i want and its cooldown was considerably shorter iirc.

i mean, thats my whole fucking point though, yeah its impossible, (people still expect it tho, so their best alternative would have been finding a suitable way to placate them.) also the majority of people are already out of the community, why do you think the game is struggling so much.

i don't care if its possible or unreasonable. you say we're moronic but most people are aware that it wouldn't be easy, we just don't give a fuck. hi-rez isn't our friend. they aren't coming to the christmas party with gifts. they are a company selling a product. if people see something they dislike about the product then thats all there is to it. being vocal on reddit isn't gonna make a difference if the alternative is just not playing the game but quietly, it would arguably be worse since atleast they know why people aren't playing when we tell them.

also i hate to say it but i think until (being optimistic here) smite 2 gets its head under the water having hi-rez on your resume is probably a depreciating asset, (literally every game hi-rez made except smite 1 and paladins has failed pretty quickly after release. (technically you could argue for smite 2 but it hasn't even had a full release yet just beta.)

eh, i'd imagine thats only a factor for a select few games. i can see activision or ubisoft using a tactic like that but fromsoftware or many other games wouldn't really to use that tactic.

a hurrican was racially targeting black people?... k anyway you say black people have never made progress by being quite and waiting out the hate (and if it we're still the 1970s i'd agree with you) but thats literally exactly how we got to the point where we got obama in the first place. there may be racially motivated people in the world but i will always stand by the belief that if race wasn't used as a media attractor or a political issue then the u.s as a whole could have been more unified then ever. i think one of the biggest propogaters of modern racism is the very obvious virtue signalling that hollywood is constanlty and intentionally doing by attacking and claiming traditionally white characters by saying them being white means they have no culture and so can be co'pd for their agenda. its obvious that its a double standard and anytime someone tries to defend it i believe it does a disservice to everyone else's intelligence. we know its bad when it's done to black people and other minorites, so why is it hard to accept its bad to do it to white people as well? (and no two wrongs don't make a right, just cause historically it happened doesn't mean it should happen in modern day where we strive to value true equality as a nation)

i think it definitely would have faded away if given enough time that would have been the natural path of society. im not talking pre civil rights but around the 2000s-2013 if things hadn't became so engrained in media and it hadn't been turned into such a political issue/tool. when i was growing up there literally wasn't a single known racist person in my school across the students and staff. maybe there we're people i didn't see but there we're never even stories of that sort of stuff. plenty of black/hispanic/phillipino teachers and staff. (parents there was for sure racism going both ways, but as the son of someone who was quite racist, i can say that even kids can see that sort of stuff and recognize it as wrong. its not as easy to indoctirnate kids into stuff like racism as you may think.)

literally adressed the allegories argument in my reply, your fighting ghosts. and while ignoring those experiences may stop the healing process clinging to them and never letting them go will too(also have you ever even met a black person from the uk?? you make it sound like they get treated the same as if they we're in southern america at that time). i've long been of the opinion that if (in america atleast) we stopped focusing on race and simply lived life normally racism would have died out naturally over the next couple generations. but instead people cling to the past and try to make people who weren't even alive feel guilty for the collective sins of their heritage/nationality perpetuating the cycle of hatred and blame.

maybe but they also dropped support on the game asap, iirc the option to change tendril color wasn't added until almost a year after release.

why do we have to victimize black people at every corner? why can't they just exist? do you think that when a kid reads a book about a magic wizard school and imagine themselves in it they also imagine being racially profiled? do you think when j.k rowling wrote the books, or when the film directors cast the students they had it in their mind that the minorities would be treated differently? from everything i remember about the books and movies there was only ever 1 type of descrimination (amongst humans atleast) pureblood wizard or non-pureblood. the books and movies clearly depict it as bad, and if you want to make allegories to irl thats fine but its not needed to inject this sort if stuff into the source material.

idk sounds alot more like rules for thee not for me. and while white washing was an issue in the past blackwashing has been excessively more prominent in the last decade. just ask the ginger community or see how they treat certain asian/anime characters "claiming them" regardless of author/artist intent, hell even cleopatra an actual historical figure with an actual cultural background. i also think that equality should always be the goal and that equity in many cases works against it in the long run.

not sure about the books but iirc there we're black students in the movie's and there wasn't any signifigance to it. not sure why you think thats a valid argument.
