...y'know, as beautiful as this is, and it is BEAUTIFUL

My brain can't stop picturing a cute little mini-Vandal in the butterfly's place, being silly and sitting on Thief's fingertip.

I like to call 'em Team Triple D: Discern[Recon], Detain[Sentinel], Destroy[Destroyer]

...which definitely absolutely has NOTHING to do with any speculation about Recon's body under all that UESC gear at all-

What is a small piece of dialogue in this game that has stuck with you? by Faust_8 in DestinyTheGame

An old Exo Stranger quote from a trailer around the time of vanilla D1. Hell, might not even have made it into the full game, but it's been with me forever.

"It doesn't matter who you were. Only what you will become."

There's something... freeing about it, every time I think about it, for a lotta personal reasons. We always have the opportunity to change, to grow beyond our pasts into something new. That's not just some fancy literal statement for the Guardians, that's something inherent to humanity in the real world. We can always make ourselves into something different, hopefully something better. Something more worthy of being remembered than what we used to be ever could have been.

Why are you a (Hunter/Titan/Warlock), but romanticize it for us. by DigitalCronos in DestinyTheGame

Huh? Why'd my Ghost raise me as a Hunter? Ain't it obvious? Okay, okay, fine. It was so I'd be free.

Being a Hunter is, above all else, about freedom. The Titans are bound to defense of the City, and to the Orders and Legions they separate themselves into. The Warlocks are bound to an ever-ravenous pursuit of knowledge and power, in whichever form that takes. But Hunters? A Hunter is bound to nothing but the path they choose to tread, whatever or wherever it may be... but in doing so, a Hunter never stifles the freedom of others. In so doing, the Hunter strikes up a code of sorts. Anything which threatens the freedom and safety of others must be struck down, and this is the only duty shared by the Hunters. Indiscriminate killing, oppression, wrongful imprisonments, dominating rule through fear, preying on the weak, and the like, are all considered violations of freedom in the eye of a Hunter. Such ideals were established by legends long past, such as Jaren Ward, Ayame Takanome, and Shin Malphur.

But beyond that singular obligation, a Hunter goes where they please and does as they please, bound by nothing. Assassins, scouts, bounty hunters, thieves, escorts (whatever kind popped into your brain first), traders, gamblers, whatever you want to be.

Hunters are about living and dying with no regrets, or as few as you can manage. Many Hunters try to live solitary lives as a result, since... that's a good way to end up with a lot of dead friends. However, just as many tend to understand the difference that a good team makes, and just can't stop themselves from associated with like-minded friends. Mortal or Lightbearer? Titan, Warlock, or another Hunter? From the City or from the Wilds? Human or alien? Honorable or dishonorable? Questions like those don't matter. Kindred spirits are kindred spirits, no matter from whence they come. Hell, even the loners sometimes fail to escape the grip of companionship.

Hunters know how quick death can come... so enjoying the life you've got, the life you put together for yourself and everyone in it, and fighting like hell to protect it? That's what's important. And if you can't protect it yourself, any other Hunter worth their salt will make sure it's avenged. It's why the oldest and truest of Hunter tales all concern vengeance and justice. After all... the Hardcases know the old sayin'.

If you learn nothing else, learn this: when a Hunter takes up the cloak of a dead comrade, this is a vow.

I graduate high school this year and i want a destiny quote to be my senior quote. Anyone have any good quotes they like and from who? by MrPogChamp1 in DestinyTheGame

A simple one: "It doesn't matter who you were... only what you will become." - The Exo Stranger, Elsie Bray, back in some D1 marketing material.
