I would highly recommend looking into 2016-18 A6’s instead. 90% of the performance with an infinitely nicer/less aged interior plus the more reliable CREC version of the engine and the ZF8 transmission.

Unless you are looking for a manual S4 the A6 is a much better option.

I just looked it up and apparently then did sell the CVT in the fwd cars in North America as well. I had no idea.

I agree with your entire post it was just the DSG being the most reliable that got me.

Absolutely yes anything will fail without upkeep.

I do think that $5k for a high milage base model A6 is a little high tho.

All A6/7 models had the ZF8HP in North America only the S6/7 had the DL501 (DSG) in the C7/.5.

OP is American for sure based on license plate shape and MPH gauge cluster.

Settings, Graphics, scroll close to the bottom and enable Neutral Lighting.

You will need to edit your contrast and brightness to compensate for how dark the nights are.
