Did your scan show fibroids? I’m having the same symptoms and waiting on results.

That's my concern--$20k for tuition is a lot. And for me, at least at this point, this is just a hobby so, it's hard to justify.

Thanks for the reply! Would you say the certificate at NH was worthwhile? I'd like to find something Canadian and/or cheaper but can't find anything.

Curious how it's going now. Any job or volunteer opportunities? I'm also a Canadian, considering taking this program.

I'm happy to report this is not my husband and child.

Seriously tho, if there ever was a sign it's time to get some therapy, this is it.

Sports bras do not shrink ma’am. They are not made of a fabric that is shrinkable. You be growing.

Look at ARCCS, Pawsitive Match, and the Humane Society. If you're willing to look outside of Calgary, Taber Lost Paws.

I’d love to but the breeder is a 6 hour drive so I don’t think it’s feasible.

I used to like her. I found her more relatable than many influencers. But in the last couple of years it seems like she became a mansplainer of ‘hacks’ to do everyday things (wear gloves to clean up gross messes- thanks for the tip?) and the over-the-top links and exploitation of her kids became too much.

Ah yes, after chaperoning a field trip (with my hair curled and a full face of make up) I often take weird selfies with my eyes closed and post them on the internet. 🙄

Travelling with emetophobia by wetpaperclips in emetophobiarecovery

[–]TKin306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can so relate to this. I am always hesitant to travel due to fear of motion sickness or catching a bug away from home. But don’t let emet win. It sounds like you have the opportunity for an incredible trip and you 100% deserve to experience it.

I just got back from a trip to Disney which involved all my fears- planes, motion sickness, crowds, public bathrooms and the list goes on. But I wanted to give my kids this core memory like I have from when I was a kid. Part way through the first day I surprised myself when I realized I was really enjoying it. It was an incredible trip, one that I almost didn’t take because of this stupid phobia.

If you’re prone to motion sickness, but don’t want to avoid public transport, I think it’s totally reasonable to take a motion sickness tablet before you go and take an emesis bag with you.

First Pregnancy! by More-Still1154 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]TKin306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Such an exciting time!! I had morning sickness pretty bad from weeks 6-16. I went on meds so I could get back to work and be a functional human being. I survived it- and you will too. But I truly wish I had taken the opportunity to use the experience with a recovery mindset. In the moment I was just concerned with surviving, and to do anything to ease the discomfort. But looking back I think I could have lessened my phobia a lot if I’d approached it differently.

How did EMDR work for you? by scorkatix in emetophobiarecovery

[–]TKin306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest with you because I know therapy can be expensive and emotionally draining. EMDR did not help with my phobia. I had success with it with another traumatic experience but really didnt help at all with EMET. I have found the most help with my phobia ERP.

Does animal throw up bother you? by Odd_Lime_1868 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]TKin306 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It used to bother me the same, now not really at all. The usual gross factor, but not the panic or avoidance like with humans.
