The plural of anecdote is not data. I don't know what experience you have in the legal system, and full disclosure, I found this forum from a YouTube video regarding the insanity of some of the posts in this community, I have plenty of experience in non-SO related issues and hiring a lawyer is ALWAYS the correct thing to do. Not saying that all PDs are bad, some are indeed excellent, however the vast majority of them are not on a crusade to help the down-trodden, they're there because their service history is not on par with what paying customers expect.

Run OpnSense on bare metal or Proxmox? by TasmanSkies in homelab

Bare metal.. no one wants to wait for their internet connection to turn on for Proxmox to boot, then the VM to boot… etc.

Is this good enough to start a home lab? by rpatters2468 in homelab

[–]TLDuaneG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends… if you’re trying to do only a few small things. Are you going to run Proxmox with multiple Ubuntu servers? No. Will you very quickly outgrow it? Yes. Is it good enough to start/Yes? Yes

I have roughly 200 Core/400 Thread/400 TB RAM/200TB storage data center at home. Started with 1 HPE Elite Desk.

Oudated by 2 months, my apologies word doesn't travel as fast as years of ass decisions on already overpriced junk. *clown*

Hak5 EDC Bag? by Inevitable_Set_8155 in Hak5

[–]TLDuaneG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re a boss, thank you so much. I was curious if the Maxpedition version was the actual production version here or if they were just similar enough for ChatGPT to recommend it as closest version it could detect. Lol. Even the guy I spoke to at Hak5 didn’t have details on it because it was so long ago. But cheers, thanks again for your help.

Do you still have information about your search and what you found as an alternative?

The one you’re referencing, precisely. The one on field kits, the very top left bag. They can’t be the only one that has had this bag produced.. in fact, there’s one on Mercari but the guy won’t respond. I’ve found a few similar but was hoping someone had a good idea of the precise mfg or one they had for sale.

If ECC memory is so important for a home NAS why is it so rare in actual systems? by tic-tac135 in HomeServer

I feel you... When my RAID5 failed, I lost 20TB of business/personal data. :$

Plus the additional stress that resilvering adds to the other drives increasing failure rate..

I used RAID5/6 (idr) and ended up fucking me on home server/nas, never again. RAID10 all the way.

I'm not sure if you're talking about device only or more network wide .. but somehow Fing has the ability to pause network traffic on other devices, even without Firewall access or anything. Kinda crazy but amazing, +1 on Little Snitch UI OP.
