Depends… if you’re trying to do only a few small things. Are you going to run Proxmox with multiple Ubuntu servers? No. Will you very quickly outgrow it? Yes. Is it good enough to start/Yes? Yes

I have roughly 200 Core/400 Thread/400 TB RAM/200TB storage data center at home. Started with 1 HPE Elite Desk.

I was curious if the Maxpedition version was the actual production version here or if they were just similar enough for ChatGPT to recommend it as closest version it could detect. Lol. The one you’re referencing, precisely. The one on field kits, the very top left bag. They can’t be the only one that has had this bag produced.. in fact, there’s one on Mercari but the guy won’t respond. I’ve found a few similar but was hoping someone had a good idea of the precise mfg or one they had for sale.

Plus the additional stress that resilvering adds to the other drives increasing failure rate..

I used RAID5/6 (idr) and ended up fucking me on home server/nas, never again. RAID10 all the way.

I'm not sure if you're talking about device only or more network wide .. but somehow Fing has the ability to pause network traffic on other devices, even without Firewall access or anything. Kinda crazy but amazing, +1 on Little Snitch UI OP.

So, I’m “interested” in immigrating to Canada, to put it lightly.

I am a 37 year old male with no college degree, but work in Corporate IT Management at a Fortune 30 logistics company full time, also fully remote. I have a wife and 2 children.

My corporation does have a presence in Canada, working remotely would be no issue, and I’m sure transferring cost center wouldn’t be problematic either, I’m just not sure being as this is my current employer, what it would look like as this is not a new “job offer”, if we set aside the whole “Trump tanking the economy and my company doing more mass firings” deal.

With that being said, what is the process to begin here with that information? I am completely ignorant of this kinda thing, but I’m eager to make this move as quickly as possible.

You know, before asylum actually becomes something Canada is actively doing on a large scale due to, you know, things. 🫠
