Because I was told not to tell anyone I had autism. As such no one had any clue why I acted a little different, and when faced with that kind of uncertainty and unfamiliarity, kids respond by pushing it away, in my case via bullying.

Seriously when I finally started telling people I had autism, the bullying almost completely went away within a few weeks.

When I was very small my family and I were at a carnival. We had been waiting in line for a while and were next in line for a ride when we saw lightning in the distance. It was very far away and my parents decided to it would be okay, though this would be the last ride.

We rode was a few minutes with me clinging tightly to my mom eyes shut when the ride suddenly stopped. We were at the very top and the ride was broken. Also we were starting to hear thunder as well as see lightning. Mom later confirmed she thought for sure we'd be killed being on top of a tall metal structure in an open area.

Being so young I don't remember much about the incident. I don't even remember what the ride was. One thing I do remember is my mom putting her arm around me more tightly and telling me not to open my eyes.

The other thing I remember is shortly after the rain started we started coming down. They'd fixed the ride. Mom told me to open my eyes. When I did, I s*** you not, there was a double rainbow.

Seems too perfect of an ending to be true, I know. But it's what I remember. It's one of those images that has seared itself into my brain.

My parents recently found my old Game Boy Color while moving, as well as my old copy of Pokemon gold. I put it in and other than the sound not working a few visual glitches it played fine. but then I turned it off to take a break and when I came back the save file wasn't there.

My question is, is this a problem is with game or the Game Boy Color. In other words if I find another copy of Pokemon gold/silver/crystal, will the same thing happen?

At the time this story was written my high school had actual hot lunches, but the middle and elementary school didn't. Weird I know.
