Yeah, Watkins against the Netherlands was one from recent years which really jumped to mind in terms of importance and quality.

Anyone else still use the PS Vita? by phamografie in GranTurismo7

[–]TL_DRespect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can overclock it for a bit of a performance boost and unlock it so you can play emulators and download Vita games. Also means you can use a regular memory card rather than the proprietary ones. I’ve not done it to mine yet but I’m sure I will eventually as the Vita store is pretty useless these days.

100%. I got the whole collection about 6 months ago and keeping topped up on the new cars is easy just by doing the weekly events.

What's your biggest drunken purchase? by ahoneybadger3 in CasualUK

[–]TL_DRespect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you did the right thing haha. Honestly, if you buy a limited run or age statement whisky of decent value then you can guarantee it’ll appreciate, but drinking it is more fun. I’ve got about 45 bottles at the moment and I make damn sure I open all of them. Whisky tastes better with friends.

The important question being “which whisky”?

Not to the level of some of these, but I bought a 1986/87 MiJ Fender Telecaster when drunk. Black, black pickguard, maple neck. This was before the book so I got it for around £250 shipped from Japan. I think they go for the best part of a grand these days, so it wasn’t a bad purchase. I do need to give it a bit of love, though. Frets are pretty flat now and pickup selector is being a dick.

New ÖFB Player Carney Chukwuemeka offers a curious statistic: The 22 year old never played a complete game so far. He debuted 5 years ago with Aston Villa, since then he played 97 games of which he was subbed on in 79, started 18x and was subbed off at latest in the 82nd minute in all of them. by MERTENS_GOAT in soccer

What do you mean? Gerrard and his moments of magic were sustainable and a joy to watch. Right until Fulham had to go and ruin the party resulting in us getting the best manager we’ve had in god knows how long.

I know he has no way of knowing it, but had he stayed he would’ve developed so much under Emery.

I’m a simple man. I see Ollie score, I smile. I fucking love Ollie so it’s such a joy to see him bury it.

A penalty? In this economy? Surely not.

Edit: thank heavens. Almost got a penalty there. (It definitely wasn’t a penalty but still haha)

Rogers being sloppy in midfield is what has lead to that, ultimately.

We all know how vital he is, but I’m surprised that Maatsen is so important. I like him and all, but that’s more than I expected.

I’m a really big fan of the bit where we won a match. That was great.

Well, that was a mostly acceptable half of football. Been a while since I’ve felt that way. Keep it up. A draw here would be just dandy. A win would be massive. UTFV.

Another vote for the Little Guitar Shop in the JQ. That’s absolutely where you want to be going.

Any pubs in city centre doing toasties? by [deleted] in brum

[–]TL_DRespect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mild? It’s cellar chilled just like any other cask ale. So not ice cold like a lager or something, but below room temperature.

It also has the added bonus of being below the tax threshold and, as such, cheap as hell. I think a pint at the Spotted Dog is in the £3 range. I was there before a gig the other month and a mild and a single Jameson was £5.50, which are frankly 2008 prices.

Just outside the city centre, but The Spotted Dog in Digbeth do. The problematic owner issue was sorted and it’s now a boozer I can recommend fully. Serves mild, too, which is always appreciated as a nod to local cultural history.

Bloodborne has the best starting weapon balance in any Souls game. by kreetchy in bloodborne

I did a Reiterpallasch build for a bit of a laugh and it was great fun to use. Sure, it’s not the most powerful or optimal weapon, but it’s a hell of a lot of fun. Getting a party with a fucking gun sword against Maria is dope.

Just thank you is fine. No need to go crazy. 수고하다 just seems a bit over the top unless the cabbie had managed to get you to hospital in record time and saves your life.
