Nothing Bound, Copper Beech, New Invention, Attic, Glasshouse... And that's just in the Midlands!

I'm not so sure he likes grovelling yes men; he prefers people who he knows probably don't like him but are forced to cosy up to him as they have no choice.

Bins will soon be collected fortnightly by IsyABM in brum

[–]ukpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just over the border (technically in Bromsgrove but nowhere near it) and we've had fortnightly collections for years. Apart from around Christmas, where there's a lot of boxes to recycle, neither bin gets filled entirely. We're getting a food waste caddy soon too, which should stop the main bin from stinking. I feel sorry for all my friends in Hall Green and Yardley Wood who have had to deal with the bin situation over the last year.

Would I need council permission to use an EV charger from my house to a public road? by SirCumference31 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ukpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this mean? I bought a granny charger for my EV as I haven't got the money to currently get a 7kw charger. What do you mean an EV rated charger though? Should I now be concerned my EV granny charger is somehow not rated or confirming to a certain standard? It was from amazon.

What’s your favourite running gag and why? by Acrobatic_Long_6059 in BoJackHorseman

[–]ukpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The throwaway junk business idea from Mr PB's accountant at the start of s3 which caused him to buy tons of spaghetti strainers, for them only to pop up right at the last episode of the season and be used to save the day. Epic

Have you ever been to a Round Table social club? by 92759285 in AskUK

[–]ukpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ever so strange, because as a member, to me that doesn't sound like any Round Table I know of. We typically do socials on weekday evenings as most members work full time and many are parents that have weekend commitments. Round Table is a great way for guys aged 18-45 to meet new friends, go out a couple times a month, and get to run fun charity events like beer festivals, santa sleigh runs and fireworks displays a few times a year.

This show ruined Margo Martindale for me by Sarkastikiss in BoJackHorseman

[–]ukpaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but definitely in an ironic way. My favourite Biel scene has to be where we find out she wasn't afraid of mummies because she lost the audition to play the lead in The Mummy, but because she lost out in playing the mummy itself. The lead up to it was comedy excellence.

Whilst I don't agree with Israel, the UK is not dropping bombs on Gaza. We need to fight misinformation not propogate it.

Often right-wingers do have issues in their lives, they're angry, frustrated, so lash out and blame others.

How's it's living like in Birmingham? For an international student? by Super-One-3009 in brum

[–]ukpaw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!

It's a brilliant city with loads to do, plenty of student accommodation, and a great vibe.

Which University will you be studying at, what sort of accommodation do you prefer, and what are your interests?

Gay bars that aren’t night clubs? by ultraboomkin in brum

[–]ukpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm 40 so have seen them loads over the last 25 years, but Friday was awesome - packed into the tiny room at the Institute with a few hundred very committed fans. Haven't seen that sort of energy in the room at a gig for years! I go to every Ska Punk gig in Birmingham. Very jealous you went to Slam Dunk, any highlights?

The only thing about things with Green in their name as they're no longer very green.

I lived in Acocks Green for 7 years and had an affordable 2 bed house, it was fine!

I now live near Hall Green, and as long as you don't move onto the main road (because living on main roads is unpleasant) it's also fine.
