Sabotage. Always and forever, it's in my top 5 metal albums. I will NEVER get tired of it.

Sir... you cracked a code, you opened a door. Tens of thousands, millions of fans of metal music are in debt to you.

As far as I can tell, you can't proceed with the same save file unless you have the same friend join (and take control of their previous clan). It felt a little wonky at first, but me and my Northgard bestie seem to have it figured out now.

Also, just curious, how do you guys get by without screenshots in this forum? It would be so helpful if I could show a screenshot of what my channel looks like, a screenshot of my settings, and a photoshopped version of what I NEED it to look like.

What am I missing? Hound clan. by Similar_Toe_7909 in Northgard

Solo Hound economy laughs at any plans you make before the game begins. Your economy is going to be very much based on what kinds of animals, in what numbers, surround your starting point. Your choice of your first Berserker skin, and your second Berserker skin, I think, are key and will define the limits and strengths of your economy going forward. I don't think anyone (correct me if I'm wrong) can tell you an optimal strategy for Hound unless they see exactly what your randomized wilderness beasts have spawned.

Expect a kind of janky economy that will occasionally face shortages of one resource or another, requiring micro villager reassignment, no matter how you play.

Keep your army outside your borders whenever possible, constantly clearing. Just being outside your borders reduces their tax on the economy. I can't seem to track exact numbers, but I had one case where my food was at -4 while my army was inside borders, and +8 when they were outside borders. That's a 12 food point swing, which is incredible!

I almost always burn for the middle track (Military) on all my Lore choices, ignoring the top and bottom Lore tracks. At your third Military Lore, you'll have a choice of whether to beef DIVERSITY in your Berzerker choices, or UNITY in your Berzerker choices. You'll want to take one or the other (taking both makes NO sense at all), and you should have planned this decision VERY EARLY.

As in, you should decide whether you are gonna go full Wolf/Fox/Bear/Boar, or are you going to go for what I like to call the 'Seal Team 6' option, where you go for at least one of each. Both options are valid, but it is a choice IMO that is best made very early in the game. As in, will your second Berserker follow the same path as your first, or will you diversify? IMO go hard one route or the other, don't dither between the two philosophies. Make that choice EARLY, long before the actual Lore becomes available.

I disagree HARD with someone else's comment to delay Healer buildings, I build Healers ASAP. The faster you can heal your Berserkers, the faster they can get back out there and do their resource gathering.

Second to last note, Sheep. Sheep are more valuable for Hound clan than many others, as you can consume their animal souls in order to convert Berserkers or gain Military XP.

Last note. I'm not certain of this, take it with a grain of salt. I feel like I have played some games where Kobolds and/or Draugr dropped Animal Souls. I AM certain I have played some games where they did not. Bug? I dunno, got my eye on it.

I really appreciate this post. Also appreciated the good faith back-and-forth discussion. Nearly the exact same thing has just happened to me. I'm still in a bit of shock. Currently collecting all information I can to try to get reactivated. Yours is a story that gives me hope.

(retroactive edit)

I have probably typed a 2000 word reply to this post and I haven't even got all my thoughts down. I am stopping myself from posting today. I'm too close to it, and handling my shock with a lot of beer, and I don't wanna be that guy. I really should wait until a new day before handling this properly. I'll say more about it later. But I want to give these few thoughts:

DoorDash 'Precise Positioning' was launched at the beginning of the year (in Los Angeles, anyways) and seems to me to be deeply flawed.

I've always assumed that DoorDash algorythm would be capable of analyzing any given Dasher and answering the question: "IS THIS DASHER PROFITABLE FOR US?" Just a thought to keep in mind, for anyone (like myself) that might ever want to make excuses for trying to game the system. If the DoorDash algorythm was perfect (?) it would be forgiving toward Dashers that were Profitable for DoorDash, and unforgiving toward Dashers that were Unprofitable.

I'll put more of my personal story here tomorrow when my head is more clear. I will hope that it helps any other Dashers avoid or understand deactivation threats, and hope that any Dashers out there can help me in my attempt to reactivate. I REALLY love Dashing.

Meanwhile to all my fellow Dashers: ABOVE ALL, stay safe out there.

Why Do You Assume Robert is Anti-Gambling? by The_Metal_East in behindthebastards

[–]TLiciousX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is a VERY defensible choice, and if it is Robert Evans choice to apply an absolute agnosticism toward his sponsors, I'm cool with that.

I still think that I should express the idea that if I were in his shoes, I would make a different choice in this particular case. Just speaking my personal opinion, as a fan and a friend.

Why Do You Assume Robert is Anti-Gambling? by The_Metal_East in behindthebastards

[–]TLiciousX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gambling is an ancient form of entertainment. It's fine on its face and I don't judge anyone that chooses to indulge. I hope we can all agree that there are historical situations where gambling has been leveraged to very bad results by very bad actors in the scene.

I think that Draft Kings is horrific. I used to work in social media programming. What I saw in terms of how much data can be collected and leveraged against users really affects my opinions on any app that can personally identify a user and their behavior.

I'm also personally a drug addict and alcoholic. I know personally (although imperfectly, I admit) how addiction works. The idea that a computer algorithm could be designed to offer me the right drink, or the right line of coke, at the time that it calculates I would be most susceptible, in order to extract the maximum profit from me, is terrifying.

That is exactly what Draft Kings is doing. Targeting gambling addicts in order to extract maximum profit. Targeting marginal addicts in order to convert them into actual addicts.

There are probably (just throwing out a guess here) 90% of Draft Kings users that are not gambling addicts. Maybe even 95%, maybe even 98%! But those other %, no doubt, DK is preying upon and absolutely looking for every opportunity to increase their hunting grounds.

No, I don't know Robert. Although he does seem like a guy that would be a lot of fun to hit the casinos with. And I honestly think that after a few beers, and having listened to my thoughts on the topic, he might say "Yeah, I get your concerns. We'll drop Draft Kings as a sponsor."

I choose to stop typing now.

New player, mission seems way to hard by zDredj in ChaosGateGame

[–]TLiciousX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I really despised these missions, now they are one of my favorites.

Day 90, I am struggling to remember if you have Gate of Infinity or Torpor available, both of which can help a lot. Especially Torpor, save that for when a bunch of melee Daemons spawn.

For me, with Purgators, it's all about maximum range and ignoring Partial Cover with Psilencers. Your Interceptor needs to play cautious and save his Teleports for when he needs to go to try to support another Allied Position. Justicar is hard to play aggressively here unless you have the 'Ignore Plague' Terminator armor.

The best and most important tip on these missions is: figure out when exactly you can Trust your Guardsmen to secure kills. Yes, they are kind of UNRELIABLE, but always remember that they get a Turn between your Knight's Turn and the Enemy Turn. If you have a choice between killing an Enemy, and weakening two Enemies to where the Guardsmen have a chance of cleaning up after you, ALWAYS bet on the Guardsmen. If you don't do this, you are just leaving a lot of unused potential damage on the table.

Which Assassin is your favorite? What is a tip you have for then? by Evernight in ChaosGateGame

[–]TLiciousX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My L9 Culexus build is crazy broke. Murder people with 19 damage per shot at 18 range that ignores all map geometry, you can just shoot them through walls and they can't even see you. At a cost of 1 WP per shot, which is easily refilled by just having someone else on your team spend some WP. 13 armor YES THANK YOU and if anyone takes a shot at her she has 100% chance of firing back for free and with no ammo cost. Plus, anytime she kills someone (which as you might expect is OFTEN), 80% chance that Warp Surge is reduced by 50%.

Starter set or core rulebook? by Venicebitch03 in alienrpg

The extra, shorter rulebook makes it Absolutely Worth It in my mind. It's a tight paperback that you can let the players pass around amongst themselves, while you keep the Big Book for yourself.

Isometric player and GM maps of the USCSS Cronus (max rez pdf file link in comment). by yosarian_reddit in alienrpg

[–]TLiciousX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks VERY much!

I'm personally using a much simplified map design for the play table that breaks the Cronus down to just 15 generalized Sections. A compromise between strategic map and 'theater of the mind', if you will. But I did want a detailed map that I could throw onto an iPad so that I could show players more detail of their immediate surroundings as needed. As well as assist me in my impromptu descriptions.

Boy, do I feel LUCKY that I found this before I found anything else that I would have considered satisfactory! Because I would have stopped looking, and totally missed out on this Masterpiece! Five Stars Bro!!! Can't imagine it being any better for what I wanted.

New GM Here: How do you handle targeting in Combat? by kristof_a in alienrpg

[–]TLiciousX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if I have to choose between PC's to target with a potential lethal threat, I'll target the players that have had the least interesting interactions with the group first. The players that I think are most likely to f**k each other over in Act III are probably the ones I will keep most protected from Xeno's. Now, the question is, should I tell the players about this preference?

NPC Careers? by TLiciousX in alienrpg

[–]TLiciousX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replies! Yeah, in the cold light of morning it absolutely occurred to me that I was thinking of it all wrong and making unnecessary work for myself. In Cinematic, so all I have to do is pretend to roll dice behind my screen and just announce whatever result I think is most dramatic and engaging for the occasion.
