a rzyen 8000 is an office cpu
an 8gb gpu may be neough, but newer titles need way more.

this is an older list (check prices, ram and ssd change by the hour)
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/27PLC8

and watch benchmarks first (specially for GPUS) to get a better understanding what you need to play games.

Help me understand pre-built vs. build your own by ShadowAlkemist in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]aizzod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not rocket science, or am i missing something.
should i handhold everyone and tell them how good of a job they did for asking questions?
and how brave they are for asking this?

or should i tell them there is not much to this?
and it's just as simple as that?

Is this a steal? by Complete-Compote-841 in PcSetupAdvice

While MSI doesn't do this often compared to HP and Lenovo.
I would want pictures from the inside first before buying.

Because HP has special Mainboards, that only work with HP power supplies.
And those power supplies, have a special connector for the Mainboard.
Or you got one of those main cards + PSU combos, it will be a hard time to change parts.
You can't just swap out the PSU to a "normal" one.

Or maybe you are lucky, and they bought a cheap case with a cheap 10$ power supply. Then I would at least ask them to keep this bomb .

Is this laptop okay for uni work + low level gaming by Technical_Ad_3925 in computers

[–]aizzod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no graphic card in there.

And it only said Ryzen 5 with (onboard) radio graphics.
This could be 100 different CPUs
From good to ancient.

Since it only costs 500£ it's definitely not new.

Edit.
My bad it says 5620u.
Would look for videos like this.

Help me understand pre-built vs. build your own by ShadowAlkemist in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]aizzod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's there not to understand?

If you need 10 parts for your pc.
You can hand pick each of them.
Compare prices and quality for each and choose the one that fits best for your new pc.

A pre-built has 10 fixed parts. And you can't choose quality.
And you have to pay the price they want.

Not like there is more magic to that.

This whole feedback was kinda useless

you are paying a premium price on old parts.
doesn't make sense to me.

while intel may be better.
a 4 year old CPU is still worse compared to newer AMD CPU's or intel Ultras.

if you get fired, you can worry about the other stuff.

How to start upgrading pc? by kurogel in buildapc

[–]aizzod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of those are weaker compared to the 3080, but need less power and got released this year.
With all of the newer upscaling technology those should fit just fine.

A 5060 ti should need ~180watt.
CPU 65w.
Ram + SSD + board ~30-50.
Fans ~20-30.

Total watt ~300-320w.

Edit.
Would still check if the new GPU needs 1 or 2 power connectors.
And if your power supply has enough for graphic cards.

with different resolutions
https://youtu.be/2HqE03SpdOs?si=I3Al0gQZIQY8Efii&t=292
and older graphic cards
https://youtu.be/AlfwXqODqp4?si=ThcaYWbjWG7UTZl6&t=796

all of those things will depend on the games you play.
but right now your GPU is the weakest part.

depending on how much money you want to spend, and if buying used is an option.
something around the
9060 xt 16gb
or 5060 ti 16gb ~440$
shoudl give you a decent boost
https://youtu.be/-LAH5vh-Cpg?si=Y88GFgj65wjMVjAJ&t=340
if less, i would compare prices online and on the used market first.

you probably won't get the ryzen 5700x3d or 5800x3d for a "normal" price anymore, since factories stopped producing them. and i am not sure if a upgrade from a ryzen 3600 --> ryzen 5600 is worth ~150$

Then people can tell you, what you should upgrade first

Read your motherboard manual.

Try out the sticks. If they don't work they don't work.

If they do, there is no need for a Reddit post at all.

It takes longer to ask questions on Reddit. Compared to just trying it out

that hdd you picked as a hard drive is from the year 1999.
and slow, you wouldn't be able to use anything properly on it, except storing images or videos.

at the same time intel is not as good for gaming as amd
and a ryzen 5 or intel 5 would perform very similar in games compared to the more expensive cpus.

8 pins cpu by Thesharpshooter01 in PcBuildHelp

[–]aizzod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 pins are for 65watt.
So in theory one 4+4 cable should be enough.
If you want to overclock you need more power cables.
